Jeopardy!: Look at all our different logos from our show's rich history! We change it up every single year, and check out our new one! The "globe" you longtime fans know and love is back! We bet you can't wait for all-new episodes next week!
Wheel of Fortune: Meh. We only change our logo when we feel like it. We just don't feel like it this year. We also don't feel like digging up an episode from each of our past seasons. Oh, almost forgot, new eps Monday.

Mike’s not going to do a good job on Wheel, isn’t he? Either that or he stops Friedman’s constant changes, but that’s the only significant thing he does. But the fact that the $38,000 prize will still happen and it looks like the S37 title card is staying, proves that it must be Sony’s doing.

^ I think Sony favors J! more than WHEEL mainly because unlike the latter show, J! only gives a away a limited amount of money away each episode.

J! only gives a away a limited amount of money away each episode. That was thrown out the window when Holzhauer came along.

Now that Mike brought back the globe intro (the opening graphics for Season 30 did kind of revive the globe intro but only showed the top of the globe with the Jeopardy! logo above it, not like what we saw in the 90s), I wonder if he's going to bring back some of these other Jeopardy! traditions that were retired during Season 14 and later, such as:
- Popping in the dollar figures at the start of the Double Jeopardy! round
- The laser swooshing sound effect that was used at the top of the show from Seasons 1–13 and again from Seasons 18–24
- The set changing its background color to red for Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy! (it does however change to red during the 30-second thinking period in FJ!)
Don't get me wrong, I admire the most significant changes Harry did to Jeopardy! like adding the Clue Crew; doubling the clue values to their present amounts; and especially lifting the 5-time limit for returning champions, which paved way for super-champions like Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer. However, a lot of Jeopardy! fans miss some of the aforementioned elements that were part of the show back in the 80s and 90s.
Regarding the popping in the dollar figures, I don't see the original loading pattern and sound effect being brought back because the current sound effect debuted only four years ago, and the loading pattern used today has been in use since Season 26.

All of this, I hope for, but, if they’re gonna bring back the laser whoosh, they’re gonna have to change the theme. And, I know it’s unlikely they’re gonna use the GOAT theme, but I want them to use the think music; I really love the piano lead and trumpet in that version.

I might be putting a little too much stock in the content of J!'s "Cast & Crew" page, as it looks like it was updated to reflect Mike Richards' appointment as EP. The music arrangements are still credited to John Hoke and Chris Bell Music. That being said, there are some names on the list that are also not current (Maggie Speak left her producer role earlier this year). So it looks like we will only be able to find out on Monday. www.jeopardy.com/about/cast/full-staff

J!’s credits have been updated and show no changes to the music arrangements. So the 2008 theme will likely stick around for this season, barring an oversight on the part of the web content folks (which I’d say is highly unlikely).

...And similar to the short preview of Wheel released last week, J! has just shared its own:
Music and sound effects the same, but the new set lighting can be seen in action here.

Here’s a link to 5 minutes of Season 37 Episode 1 from archive.org: archive.org/details/2020-09-14miniAll that I can say about the opening graphics is, this definitely rivals Season 29 as the best. Incredible.

I agree. The use of footage and stills from the show’s history is a nice treat. Meanwhile, it seems Wheel reuses the S37 title card.

He didn't reinvent the Big Wheel overnight either. Be lucky we're getting anything at all with this pandemic.

Just saw the premiere episode. It had some puzzles I was able to easily guess, and I’m glad the winner was able to guess the Bonus puzzle at the last second.

(haven't posted here in years.... wow!)
Hopefully Mike will be able to freshen up the show. Sony can only do so much. I am hopeful for the future. I know he must want to make changes when it's time.

I saw the premiere episodes for both Wheel and Jeopardy!, and was impressed with the changes:
- the globe intro for Jeopardy! - the cosmetic changes to the Jeopardy! set - the apparatus to spin the wheel - the redesigned contestant railing - the contestant score displays on Wheel look more crisp this season - if a contestant has a piece of cardboard and lands on Bankrupt, he or she has to place the piece(s) in the bin instead of handing it to Pat
The only thing I don't like is that the intro for Wheel is exactly the same as last season. Why not use intros based on the particular themed week if you're going to use the same title card as the previous season? Wheel used to change its title card every season, but then got lazy about it in Season 33 and decided to change the title card every two to three seasons.

Why not use intros based on the particular themed week if you're going to use the same title card as the previous season? I'd much rather have the show's title flashed at the top of the show during the famous chant instead of something like "Spa Getaway".
