According to today's Email, this year's Secret Santa sponsor is Consumer Cellular. Big step down from Disney, Walmart, and Sears. From the company's Wikipedia article: Make of that what you will.

Haven't they sponsored Jeopardy! tournaments, too? Yes. The two most recent TOCs and the S35 all star games.

Understandable on two of the three (so much of Disney being out of commission much of the year, and Sears just in general) but you'd think Walmart would have wanted to continue...

^ Possibly September 4, after Wheel Across America. Can't confirm, though.

According to this contestant who airs this week, contestants are now no longer allowed to leave after their show and must stay for all six for the sake of providing real audience applause. Also, the term "Wheel condoms" is actually used at the show, and contestants get to keep them, rather than just sanitizing the same three.
Greg says in the video that this week taped on a Friday. Since this week's set is identical to Fabulous Food, it must have taped September 25.

What if someone needs to leave, such as going to work the next day? Or doesn't want to stick around for any number of reasons (such as having had a lousy time)? Why even make them stay to do real applause at all when the canned audience will be added in post like usual? Also, the term "Wheel condoms" is actually used at the show Of all the suggestions to take from social media, they take Buzzerblog's mocking nickname for the White Things. "Peg Grips" would've at least been concise and descriptive. Put "Wheel Condoms" up there with Wedge Ledge, Pat Chat, and Goody as stupid-sounding official names for things that aren't called by those names on-air anyway.

Y'know I'm actually the one who first came up with the term. Some people may be using it to mock the show but it's really just the easiest and quickest way to describe it. When I told my mother (who isn't on social media at all) about what they're doing her exact words to me were "So like a condom for the wheel?" There's nothing obscene about the phrase nor is it meant to mock the show. Personally I found it funny calling it the Wheel Condom™️ because in the most basic sense that's what it is. A rubbery plastic device you slip over the spoke before handling it to prevent the spread of disease. I get that some people think it's meant to mock the show, but it's meant to mock the situation that we're in. A little well needed humor in these times.

There’s a few changes to note as well, one being that college week is now the week of 4/5 and the week of 3/29 is Resort Livin’.

I can confirm that Home for the Holidays (next week) taped Friday, October 9, which probably means Secret Santa taped October 7 and 8.

Two changes, according to Google searches that I did: - February 8-12, originally Aulani Resort Hawaii Vacation, has been changed to Great Outdoors. - February 15-19, originally Main St. USA, has been changed to Wheel Across America, despite this season already having that theme from October 19-23.

Something must have happened between Wheel and Disney. Main St. USA is a section of Disneyland. Then again, Disneyland is still closed (Walt Disney World, however, is not). Despite all that, Collette week is still on for later this month.

ABC is owned by Disney and they're airing Celebrity Wheel, so I would assume it's not a case of fractured relationship. It's likely Covid related.
