Season 38 Pre-emptions and Anomalies

genius2751, do you know if KGO aired Wheel overnight at all? I checked it at 3:00, but it was still Tamron.

Boston viewers, tonight's Wheel will air at 2:22 AM Eastern instead of the usual 2:07, because CBS is airing 15 minutes of Masters Tournament highlights at 11:35 PM, sliding back the late night talk shows.

No Wheel in Minneapolis tonight due to the Vikings/Bears game. WCCO will air Monday's episode Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at 1:37 AM Central (ATTN: seanomac).

WLS Chicago was originally slated to carry the game as well, which would have pre-empted Wheel, but they refused this time, so it will instead air on CW affiliate WCIU.

Besides Boston, two pre-emptions tonight for local holiday parades.

On WTOV in Steubenville, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia (NBC), tonight's Wheel is not listed to be airing at all. Last year, it aired at 2:37 AM, but that's still listed as the Hoda & Jenna encore and tomorrow's airing is still listed as the S37 rerun.

On KBJR in Superior, Wisconsin and Duluth, Minneosta (NBC), tonight's Wheel is moved to the .3 MyTV subchannel.


Also, tomorrow's rerun was originally pre-empted on FOX stations by the first Thursday Night Football broadcast of the season. It will be pre-empted the second time as well since FOX has College Football all day Saturday.

WPVI Philly is pre-empting Wheel three times next week. Once for an MNF Eagles game, and two others for half-hour local holiday specials. Jeopardy! is only pre-empted once. Ugh!

I'm beginning to wonder if there's going to be a preemption on WBZ this Tuesday or next Tuesday because of the Faneuil Hall Holiday Special taking place.

WTHR Indianapolis is accidentally airing Wheel and Jeopardy! in reverse order tonight, so Wheel will be airing at 7:30 instead of 7:00.




I have a feeling this is because of WTHR airing holiday specials around this time of year at 7:30, which are presumably cancelled this year. In those cases, J! would move to 7:00 and Wheel would move to 7:30 on MeTV, so they may have programmed J! at 7:00 for today before realizing there'd be no special.

WANE Fort Wayne is pre-empting Wheel tonight for a special titled "Merry and Bright: A History of the Night of Lights". Wheel will air at 1:37 AM Eastern.

Tonight's Wheel is pre-empted on WBOY in Clarksburg, WV (NBC) by a special titled The Holiday Experience and won't be airing at all.

Other than that, with no NFL, Wheel is pre-empted on all East Coast FOX stations by College Football, which runs until 8:00 PM Eastern. KDVR Denver is unaffected, unless the final game runs at least half an hour over. KHON Hawaii is obviously unaffected and will air Wheel at the normal 6:30 instead of 8:00 like on TNF days.

Yes, one of the FOX's already aired tonight's show. Unfortunately, it's the only one of the Wheel FOX's that I don't have a feed for.



Note that if the game does run over, FOX will very likely slide back The Masked Singer and I Can See Your Voice since both of those shows have new episodes tonight. They only JIP post-sports primetime shows if they're reruns. If this is the case, late airings of Wheel will probably air later than the time listed, or they may get cut off.
