Well, let's just let it be a surprise about what it will be when it airs, or we get more info, whichever comes up first, then we won't have to worry about some ants in our pants

Well, this is coming from a very reliable source, and if you've seen some of the latest posts in the WOF Art thread, you will know where I am coming from; but this video is what most likely will be the new opening for Season 29, but as the title says, it is an idea, so we won't know just yet:
So, there won't be a new logo; just a slightly redesigned new one. Personally, I think it's amazing! Credit goes to tommyrayhall; this video is from his YT channel.

That is the starlight BG from the Vanna for a Day toolkit, so this is definitely an official idea

Here's one thing I wonder will sadly happen in Season 29 -- Could Portland be the only on the road locale, and for the first time, they'll go on the road only once and for only four weeks? Because usually by long before this time of year, all on the road locales are known. And also, the first week that I believe would always be on the road when there was more than one is November 7 - 11, and that just happens to be the first unknown week (and there is a known week after that (and one that taped already), December 26 - 30). So I'm wondering if just maybe we won't see any on the road shows September 19 - April 27, which would be the first 32 weeks of the season, then Portland April 30 - May 25, since we know it's four weeks, and the last three weeks May 28 - June 15 in Culver City.
Also, interestingly enough, this wouldn't be enough for there to be a sixth week of sixth show tapings (I hope you don't find that redundant!) Because remember it takes 6 weeks to make a 6th show taping), and so therefore 36 weeks to make 6, and with 4 Portland weeks, that makes 35 Culver City weeks. So maybe there'll be 5 Culver City weeks to tape only 5 shows.
Also, if Fun & Fit isn't a 6th show taping week with the Halloween show Monday, this would explain it (as would any fewer than 9 on the road weeks). Because that way, like Season 27 when it was one of only two such weeks (32 Culver City weeks since there were 7 on the road weeks), Halloween would be one of the five to tape only five shows. Or does anyone know there were 5 or 6 weeks taped when Halloween taped on July 14? And if not then, did any other weeks tape only 5 shows or were they all 6? And for the record, all Culver City weeks had 6th show tapings last season since there were 9 on the road weeks.

I saw the picture of the wheel and contestants. Is that set new? It looks different this time. And is the puzzle board going to the same or will there be a new one?

Thanks. I had forgotten that the set changes color from time to time.

When that guy on the game show Invision forum said everything was still on the wheel, boy he meant it. Here's a still of the wheel as featured in a Wheelmobile promo that was shot during production of Season 29: The prize wedge and gift tag are still on the wheel in addition to everything else, including the 1/2 Car tags. Loaded much?

I thought this was supposed to be Wheel of Fortune, not Wheel of Cardbard.

What an experience! Attending Wheel of Fortune live was a real blast. The Hall of Fame was really cool, with memorabilia from the show like a trilon from the old puzzleboard to an old Jackpot wedge. The studio (as with all things on TV) was smaller than I expected it to be. We sat on the right side of the set near the wheel and behind where standby contestants were seated (if we spoke to them at all, they'd be disqualified).
I won 3 prizes by answering some trivia that Jim Thornton asked to the crowd. I got a keychain, pen, and autographed picture of Pat & Vanna. I got to talk with him briefly which was pretty cool. Vanna took time to answer some questions as well.
It was an incredible experience that I'll never forget. A full report on rule/music/graphic changes, etc. will be coming soon.

Awesome dude, type it up and clear the spoiler check ASAP. Also good you cleaned up on the audience game, what was the trivia?
Maybe I'll go next year, even though I wouldn't be as excited for retro memorabilia like some others here.
That's surprisingly strict on standby contestants, but I suppose understandable.
It sounds like you went to the second half of tapings on that day. Wheel put on Facebook today that Fun & Fit was a 4-day week, so if you could clarify if there were actually 2 leftovers for future weeks, that would be nice.
One more thing: was the 1/2 car ARP revealed pre-R1 along with the prize on the Wheel?

The questions were pretty easy. Jim gave me the keychain and pen for this question: Vanna was in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1992 for what? (most frequent clapper)
And I got the autographed picture with this: what was Wheel of Fortune's original name? (Shopper's Bazaar). I'm gonna brag a little bit, I was the only one in the audience who got the autographed picture.
I attended the first half of tapings. The big screen on center said "Fun & Fit" for all 3 shows, so none were leftovers.
There were no 1/2 car descriptions at all. The Jackpot sponsor and the prize were described as usual in R1.

And I got the autographed picture with this: what was Wheel of Fortune's original name? (Shopper's Bazaar). I'm gonna brag a little bit, I was the only one in the audience who got the autographed picture. First, congratulations! Second, I'm curious if Jim clarified the statement (i.e., when it was called Shopper's Bazaar, the answer being 1973 for the original pilot). Third, and not to diminish your bragging rights, but that fact (and the "most frequent clapper" record) has been on the official site for some time. Eagerly anticipating your taping report.

Just so everyone knows- I have received a report and have approved it. It should be posted within the next 24 hours. There is another significant change other than the 1/2 CAR plates...I'll let him say what it is.

I started a thread last week asking members of the board what they would like to know in terms of changes for Season 29. I tried my best to see if I could answer those questions, and here is a report of all the changes you wanted to know:
1/2 Car wedge rules: The 1/2 car wedges didn't come into play too much during the three shows, but I do think that if a contestant picks one half up, that half is replaced with another one on the wheel. There were no descriptions for the 1/2 car vehicle at all. This I can say for sure: $500 is added to the player's score for every instance of the letter they called when they pick up one of the halves. Speaking of that, the green $700 space where the Wild Card used to be is now $500. They probably wanted to keep both 1/2 car dollar values uniform, since the other half is on the blue $500 right across.
New graphics: There were some new graphics. The toss-up coin and category strips remained the same, but the prize puzzle and final spin graphics were updated to reflect the Season 28 logo, in terms of color schemes. You'll understand what I mean when you see them.
Logo: As some have been speculating, the Season 29 logo is the same as last season but slightly updated. The intro uses this logo, and it looks really cool.
New wheel dollar values: There were no "new" dollar values on the wheel, just the change of the green $700 to $500 that I mentioned above.
New categories: Unfortunately, no new categories were used during my shows.
Wild Card: Although the Wild Card has been moved to the pink $900 space next to the Bankrupt, $900 is not added to the player's score when picked up.
Cars in Bonus Round: Cars are still in the Bonus Round.
Music changes: I heard no new music in terms of the opening and closing of the show, puzzle-solve cues, etc. I thought I heard a few new commercial break cues, but I'm not entirely sure about that.
Prize Puzzle in Rounds 2 & 3: On my 3 shows, the prize puzzle made no appearance in Round 1, so that's all I can say. Also, the prize puzzles didn't seem as generic as people are saying they are. They still gave away hints of a trip, but that could have just been the case during the shows that I saw.
Before & After, Same Name in every show: I recall 1 Before & After puzzle (although I think there was another one on a different show, I can't really remember) and one Same Name puzzle during the 3 shows.
Order of Rounds: The Jackpot Round is still Round 1, but now the Mystery Round is in Round 2, and Round 3 is a regular round.
Just to let you know, the shows I attended will be airing November 1-3, during "Fun & Fit" Week.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I'll be happy to answer them.
Merged into existing taping report thread. There is no need to start a new one when one already exists.

Like I said when I got this early from cu (sorry, couldn't wait ) ... lolwut. The 700 to 500 I understand, but the LAT-BANKRUPT area is pretty uneven now... I always liked $700 as an amount too. This is minor though compared to what basically was the bombshell... This round swap... what the heck? I don't judge early (like on G-R.net, I waited on the silver border removal in CR, and everything was fine at the taping), but this really sounds bad. I *think* they are going for complete 1/2 car focus in the time most people will complete the car, R3, but frontloading just never sounds like a good idea. This will also likely increase the number of "cruise" big-winning-margin games where R3 to the end of the game (potentially a good 10 minutes) is pretty much garbage time, which will hurt, because the car won't be run that often to counteract such a game. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but the flow just sounds like a downgrade, and maybe trying to do too much while being restricted to not changing what they should.
