Wheel of Fortune has updated it's Upcoming Weeks schedule for season 29 and has added some new week themes like "Fun & Fit" week and "Ports of Call" which could be one of the themed weeks taped August 18th and 19th of next week.

-Season premiere week is called "Home Sweet Home" ... eh, w/e. Getting the family week done very early this season is going to feel strange. -They might as well have called it Cruise Week... "Ports of Call" sounds weird. -Fun & Fit starts on 10/31, meaning no weird Halloween 6th this year (now that you see them doing 6 episodes for 10/22-29 last year, you have to question why they didn't do the same for 10/24-31) - unless Fun & Fit is a hidden 6th, as we've said before it is the 6th airdate week, but that name certainly discourages that notion.

-"Ports of Call" sounds weird. it might not be Cruise Week. First, when is Ports of Call? The week of October 3 - 7, 17 - 21, or November 7 or later? (Or I'm thinking November 21 or later since my guess is November 7 - 8 will be on the road. Or like last season, November 7 - 11 will be, and November 14 - 18 a special players week. Second, what makes you think it's Cruise Week? Ports of Call Just because it has the word "port" in it, and that relates to cruise ships, it could mean something else. And Cruise Week has been called other things before (for instance, Welcome Aboard in Season 27). Third, if it is Cruise Week and October 3 - 7, that makes it the exact same week as last season, interestingly just like the previous week. - -Fun & Fit starts on 10/31, meaning no weird Halloween 6th this year (now that you see them doing 6 episodes for 10/22-29 last year, you have to question why they didn't do the same for 10/24-31) - unless Fun & Fit is a hidden 6th, as we've said before it is the 6th airdate week, I definitely think, based on last season, that it is the 6th episode taping week, with the Halloween show Monday. What ever makes you think it isn't? but that name certainly discourages that notion. Why not? That name doesn't discourage it any less than Wheel Around the World, Great American Cities or Give Me a Break! Starting last season, not all 6th show taping weeks were America's Game! In fact, for all of Seasons 21 - 24 (and the final one of Season 25), all 6th show taping weeks had random names.

This is what rashad's source is.And "Fun & Fit" is NOT a generic title. You'd expect some type of exercise-related prizes (gift tag, if it still exists?) in that week. A collection of 6ths can't really coordinate such a thing. ...What else do you think "Ports of Call" is?

I didn't realize that was the upcoming weeks on the website updated! And the first seven Season 29 weeks were included before website is changed at the start of the season! (Remember, at the start of the season, the website is changed to somewhat suit the season's looks), and usually it's then that the first few weeks of the season are added, and on the last weekend before the season premiere, there's a blank page under the Upcoming Weeks! It's great we won't get that on the weekend of September 17 - 18! And "Fun & Fit" is NOT a generic title. You'd expect some type of exercise-related prizes (gift tag, if it still exists?) in that week. A collection of 6ths can't really coordinate such a thing. It's true that if it were an exercise themed week, that would be the case. But just because it has the word "fit" in it, that doesn't mean it's an exercise themed week. It could just be a nice alliterative (or in the language of the show, SAME LETTER), like Sand & Sea is ( the theme name of February 21, 2011, March 29 - April 2, 2004, or October 19 - 23, 1998). ...What else do you think "Ports of Call" is? It could maybe just mean different seaside destinations. But I'm sure you're right, which means that September 26 - October 7 will have the exact same theme name as exactly one year before. Incidentally, EXOTIC PORTS OF CALL was the Prize Puzzle of November 9, 2009 (the Monday of College Week from Boston in Season 27), but I don't remember what the prize was. Do any of you? Was it a cruise? As for Desert Hideaways, I hope that unlike Desert Oasis of this past season (April 25 - 29), it's a scenic set, and not the updated version of the dips and columns set. BTW, do you realize that we have two cases of consecutive theme names: October 10 - 21, 2011 are the exact same theme names (or similar theme names and type of theme), and in the same order, as January 7 - 18, 2008! Also, Mario, now that we know October 3 - 7, 17 - 21, and 31 - November 4, could you please put the theme names in the question marks next to those weeks?

While I can't believe you remember all these generic themes with exact dates, nicky, it's probably not a coincidence - Wheel is certainly looking back at what they've done and reusing when they can.

I updated the chart. Thanks, Rashad and Wayoshi. Nice to see them update the schedule before the season premiere.
I actually have a feeling they'll do similar to what they did last year for Halloween week. They could air the 6th show from that week on Monday 10/31, and then air shows 5 and 6 from Fun & Fit week during the leftovers week. It would seem weird to have Halloween shows before the day, but not actually on the day.

The website listed Halloween from 10/22-29 last year... I think the Monday timing just made things impossible this year, they can't have the theme too far afterwards

Also remember too that last season they aired "Sweethearts Week" from Las Vegas a week before the actual date of Valentine's Day which was a Monday. On that Valentine's Day they started "Teen Best Friends Week" not even making mention that it was Valentine's Day.

That's a good point rashad, and validates my point that Fun & Fit doesn't need to be a 6th, which I really think it isn't.

Also remember too that last season they aired "Sweethearts Week" from Las Vegas a week before the actual date of Valentine's Day which was a Monday. Yes, and the same in 2005. And in 2006 with Valentine's Day on a Tuesday, they had Sweethearts on Feb. 6 - 10, not 13 - 17. However, with Christmas on a Monday in 2000 and 2006, they had Happy Holidays (or Spirit of the Season, as it was called in 2006) on Dec. 25 - 29, not 18 - 22. Though they haven't had it on such a week in relation to a Monday holiday in 5 years, so maybe that's when they smartly decided to have it the week before for all Monday holidays. Too bad 2012 is a leap year, since otherwise we could see next season what they'd do with a Monday Christmas. Though with Christmas on a Tuesday in 2012, maybe they'll do what they did for Valentine's Day 2006, have Happy Holidays Dec. 17 - 21, and then Dec. 24 - 28 will be a sixth show taping with the Happy Holidays show Tuesday. On that Valentine's Day they started "Teen Best Friends Week" not even making mention that it was Valentine's Day. Actually, if you recall, on the Valentine's Day episode, the Monday of Teen Best Friends, they did acknowledge Valentine's Day in the Pat & Vanna talk, as well as Vanna's birthday being the following Friday (although they didn't acknowledge it on Friday). However, I don't remember if they did that in 2005. Somehow I think they didn't, especially since the Feb. 14 - 18, 2005 episode reran that summer (and yes, the first of the two QUALITY TIME $100,000 losses from Vegas on Vanna's birthday that Friday and record breaking maingame round of a Speedup). Although the 2006 and 2009 Sweethearts weeks also reran those following summers, as did the 1996 Happy Holidays week, 1998 and 2007 Spring Break weeks, the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Mom & Me weeks (for Mother's Day), and Wheel Into 1997 (the New Year's week).

Today, Wheel is taping shows for "Fun & Fit" week. This week of shows will air during Nov. 1 - 4th. October 31st, will be a halloween themed show. Fun & Fit week clearly looks like it will not be a complication week and I bet tomorrow they will be taping shows for "Desert Hideaways" week due to the type of set they are using. Picture of today's set can be found on their facebook page.

Uh...
Last season, the schedule at wheeloffortune.com had 10/18-21 and then 10/22-29. This will be something to keep an eye on

That is really crazy. I don't understand why October 31 - November 4 couldn't have been instead a compilation week with the Halloween show Monday, maybe Home Sweet Home Family Week Tuesday, Spa Fantasy Wednesday, Ports of Call Thursday, and Bed & Breakfast Friday, and Fun & Fit could have then aired November 7 - 18 (or November 14 - 18 or November 28 - December 2 if they go on the road November 7 - 11 or November 7 - 18 or 25, which would make sense.

There's also the question if Fun & Fit potentially has a 5th AND a 6th ep for future compilation weeks - I don't remember what happened with the 10/18-21/10 week.

In the first compilation week of Season 28, November 29 - December 3, there were two episodes from it, on Wednesday and Friday, so all weeks could have sixth show tapings.
I also wonder if just maybe, this will happen with Happy Holidays this year, with all six shows December 16 - 23, and December 12 - 15 will be a four show theme week.

Partial Update (didn't add to chart): the week of January 9 - 13, 2012 will be a compilation week. A contestant who taped recently said her show will air on the 9th.

Posted on FB a few hours ago:
"...I recently was lucky enough to go to a wheelmobile event to audition, got called on stage what a blast then got a letter for final auditions, very excited while I waited to see if I made it on the show. Guess what, I DID! I just got back from taping in LA and have to say that I had the most amazing time, my only regret is I can only do it once! Thanks Wheel of Fortune, watch on Jan 9th to see how it turned out!"
