SATURDAY 11/27 (#S-7339RR)Our first "three-peat" of Season 38. The original airing was messed up in several markets. Several stations messed up Thursday's show. It got cut off mid-R1 to a black screen, then R2 onwards was from Wednesday's show. This happened on at least the following stations: KFSM - Fort Smith, AR (CBS) WTHR - Indianapolis, IN (NBC)
KSDK - St. Louis, MO (NBC)
WCNC - Charlotte, NC (NBC)WBNS - Columbus, OH (CBS) KIII - Corpus Christi, TX (ABC)
KVEO-DT2 - Harlingen, TX (CBS)
KHOU - Houston, TX (CBS) Also, WTOV in Steubenville, OH aired Tuesday's episode. This episode reran last night. Of course, it managed to get pre-empted again on the three bolded stations due to local Olympics coverage.
The three NBC's that pre-empted the August rerun all aired it this time. For the episode's third airing, not much of the East Coast aired it, just NBC's if anything. CBS's college football game went into quadruple overtime and ran until 8:00 PM Eastern, so no East Coast CBS stations aired Wheel tonight. ABC's game went until 11:35 PM Eastern, so some post-game airings on the East or West Coast may be in trouble. For Sunday, ABC has MLS from 3:00-5:30 PM ET, so 5:30/4:30 CT airings may be in trouble. WTNH moved WOFW back to 1:30 this weekend since that slot is available. WFTV in Orlando aired J! and Wheel after the 11:00 news following CFB late Saturday night; WOFW normally airs at 5:30 PM Sundays during CFB season, but that gets replaced with RightThisMinute when ABC has sports scheduled to end at 5:30. On Saturday at 6:30 Central, KFSM ran a crawl at the top of the screen announcing that Wheel would air at 12:35 AM.

- WBBH Fort Myers, FL - Wheel may or may not air on a one-day delay for the rest of the week.
- WTLV Jacksonville, FL - Wheel will air on WJXX (ABC).

Wheel is pre-empted on WPVI in Philadelphia (ABC O&O) for the first of two days in a row (three if you count Saturday) for its annual local holiday special "Philly Celebrates the Holidays". Wheel will air at 3:07 AM Eastern. In previous years, this special was half an hour, but this year, it's a full hour, so the other show is pre-empted today, too.

Wheel will be pre-empted on many ABC stations today.
The O&O's are all airing a "Localish Deals and Steals" special tonight, mostly in Wheel's time slot (naturally...).
All West Coast ABC affiliates will be affected by a college football championship game airing on ABC at 8 ET/5 PT and scheduled to end at 11:30 ET/8:30 PT.
Wheel is not affected by the Localish special on KABC or KFSN; both game shows and the special will air in slots after the game.
Air times for impacted airings are as follows. Overnight airings may slide if the college football game runs over (which it probably will), so record the next show if you have to DVR.

The game ran until about 11:48 ET. If you have to DVR Wheel overnight, record the show afterwards, too.
KOTA and KGUN's airings were joined in progress. KOMO aired Wheel in its entirety starting at 9:18 PT after a full half hour of local news.

- 7:00 ET NBC airings by the previous President's return to the White House from the hospital (through mid-R3)
- WFTV in Orlando by a local debate
- WRIC in Richmond by a local debate
The NBC airings will mostly be fine, except for WCBD in Charleston which bumps Weekend Wheel to 12:30 AM Mondays for a Saturday-only 7:00 newscast, and WBBH in Fort Myers due to being replaced with a delayed airing of Friday's episode. This episode will be pre-empted again on WFTV and WRIC due to being ABC affiliates. WFTV will air the rerun at 12:05 AM tonight at the earliest, or half an hour after college football ends. WRIC does not air Weekend Wheel at all during CFB season (but they air the other show's weekend reruns on Sundays...). Many CBS affiliates, mainly the East Coast, will be impacted yet again for this episode. CFB scheduling is a bit different today. CBS's game is scheduled until 7:30 ET instead of 7:00 and will still surely run long. ABC's is scheduled until 11:30 instead of 11:00. 7:00 airings on CBS are pre-empted outright, and some 7:30 airings will be replaced with news, such as KFSM in Arkansas. KTVT Dallas and KHOU Houston are both still planning to air Wheel at 6:30 CT, but it very likely won't air in its entirety. The West Coast should be fine, although all West CBS affiliates aired the original airing in primetime slots without any problem since the postponed NFL game ended on time that day.

CBS's game went until about 8:14 ET. CBS primetime is slid back accordingly on the East Coast, so late Saturday night airings of Wheel may do so as well. The only fully intact CBS airings tonight will be most 6:30 Mountain airings (except KRQE which prioritizes the other show even on Saturdays...), and all Pacific airings (all three of them  ). |

By the way, Weekend Wheel returns to its usual Saturday slots on ABC stations next weekend, but not for good just yet. There is no evening CFB or any other sporting event on ABC that day; MLS is scheduled until 5:30 ET.

The movie ( Black Water: Abyss) did indeed run late, then J! started from the beginning at 5:06 AM, into Wheel's slot. Immediately after it finished at 5:34, Wheel was joined in progress during the break between Rounds 1 and 2, in the slot originally scheduled for Small Town Big Deal, which ended up being skipped entirely since WABC starts Sunday morning news at 6:00 AM. At least they didn't skip Wheel and JIP STBD, I guess. |

On some ABC stations, during the second game's Round 2 after Jodie picked up the MDW, the show abruptly cut to a 90-second commercial break, returning as Jodie was putting her lost MDW in the bag behind the podium. This happened on at least WABC New York and WLS Chicago, both O&O's.

Already kicking off Secret Santa with pre-emptions... Yet another Buffalo Bills special pre-emption on WIVB and WROC tonight.
WIVB's sister station, WNLO, added a 7:00 PM newscast last week. Originally, tonight's Wheel was going to air at 6:30 ET instead of 7:00, but they eventually decided to keep Wheel at 7:00 and cut the newscast in half.
On the positive side, despite the Patriots playing in tonight's MNF, Wheel was not pre-empted on WBZ tonight, despite them usually doing so when the Pats play in TNF.

CBS's final CFB game of the season is the Army/Navy game, scheduled until 6:30 ET. However, 7:00 ET airings of Wheel are still in danger of getting JIP'd or skipped if a CBS station has a local newscast scheduled at 6:30 in place of CBS Weekend News. The latter will not run past 7:00, but local newscasts can. WBZ is one of several stations that is planning to do local news after the game instead of national news.
FOX has college basketball until 7:00 ET. If this runs over, Wheel will get JIP'd on WXIX in Cincinnati and WDAF in Kansas City following a 30-minute 6:00 newscast. WDAF also pre-empted the original airing of this episode for Chiefs Super Bowl hype. Other than that, no other stations pre-empted the original airing.
ABC has NBA from 8-11 ET, meaning Wheel is still airing in alternate slots on West Coast ABC affiliates for now, and is still in danger of getting JIP'd or skipped on some of them.
East Coast ABC airings will mostly be at their regular time slots for the first time this season... except if you watch on WABC. They have tonight's airing pre-empted by, of all things, a Time-Life music infomercial. Wheel will instead air at 4:00 AM Sunday, but this is immediately after the WABC late night movie, which will slide if NBA runs over and will cause Wheel to either slide as well or get JIP'd.

It was also pre-empted on KGO in San Francisco by a documentary that ran from 9:00-10:30 PT after NBA. Both stations are not airing Wheel at all this weekend. WLS also did not air J! since it normally airs at 6:00 CT on Saturdays, and the parade special was an hour long. NBA overran slightly, with newscasts starting around 11:07 ET. WABC aired Wheel in full from about 4:07-4:37 AM. Immediately after it finished, they aired a brief "Happy Holidays" bumper from Pat and Vanna, then JIP'd Small Town Big Deal. KAIT in Jonesboro, Arkansas (ABC) reportedly aired Wheel twice: at 6:30 PM CT and around 11:30 CT (probably slid later), its slot during CFB season. WDIV in Detroit messed up this weekend's rerun. They accidentally aired the Triple Toss-Up/R4 segment from #S-7280RR (OAD 11/20/2020; RR 11/13/2021), the rerun from four weeks ago. It returned to the correct episode after the Bonus Round, but likely due to the time difference in the two episodes' TTU/R4 segments, 7330 was cut off shortly into the closing segment. |
