All known Season 39 pre-emptions noted here. How to check for pre-emptions in any market: 1) Go here: tvlistings.zap2it.com/overview.html?programSeriesId=SH00004762&tmsId=SH000047620000&from=TVGrid&aid=gapzap2) Click the "Upcoming Episodes" tab. 3) Click the button with the location marker that denotes the market (defaulted to "Eastern Default Lineup (USA)"). 4) Enter the zip code of the market you want to check. If you don't know, just Google "(name of city) zip". 5) Choose a channel lineup. Make sure you get one with your desired station. Several lineups contain stations from neighboring markets. 6) Go down the list of Wheel airings. There should be maximum six airings a week, one each from Monday-Saturday (or Sunday). If any airings are listed at irregular times, on different stations, or are skipped entirely, Wheel is pre-empted on that station at least once in the next two weeks. Common terminology: JIP: Join in progress. This is when a station abruptly cuts into a program in the middle of the show. For example, if a station is supposed to air Wheel of Fortune at 7:30 PM, but doesn't start it until 7:35, and it starts in the middle of Round 1 as if it had been running since 7:30, that means it was joined in progress. Stations often warn of abrupt cut-ins with a graphic and/or voiceover announcing something along the lines of, "We now join our regular programming already in progress." Slide: When a station has at least one program scheduled after an event such as a sporting event that runs longer than scheduled, they opt to start those programs late, but from the beginning, rather than join it in progress. For example, if a football game runs until 11:00 PM, and a station schedules local news at 11:00 followed by Wheel of Fortune at 11:30, if the game does not end until 11:20, the station "slides" the news and Wheel to start at 11:20 and 11:50, respectively.

The NFL game is going into overtime. Wheel is gone on KOTA and KAEF for sure, and probably on KOMO as well. The 10:00 PT and later airings will probably be fine.

KOMO actually did air Wheel in its entirety from about 9:33-10:03 Pacific, more than half an hour later than the time listed. KGUN did the same, although their airing was less than 5 minutes late.
Even with Mike Richards hosting, Jeopardy! is still getting the upper hand over Wheel. KXTV was scheduled to air news from 8:15-9:00, then J! and Wheel, with no more news until 11:00. Because the game went so late, they didn't do any news, started J! a little after 9:00, ran it in its entirety, then some commercials, then at about 9:35, abruptly cut to Wheel in the middle of Round 1 (right before the O was bought).
Also, KATU was supposed to show news until 9:00, then two infomercials, then J! and Wheel. I checked KATU a little after 10:00 and they were showing the infomercial that was supposed to air at 9:30, so J! will probably air at 10:30 and Wheel is very likely gone completely in that market, even though KATU's station manager recently contacted me to inform me that KATU would no longer slide their programming on sports overruns, and would not do local news if it meant having to run it after 10:00 and interfere with J! and Wheel.
Fortunately for Allison and Somsack, KABC and KGO's airings were fine.

TUESDAY 9/14 (#S-7427)
Starting today, Wheel will air at 12:06 AM Central on Tuesday nights on WKRN in Nashville, Tennessee (ABC) due to local NFL program The Mike Vrabel Show. This will continue on Tuesdays throughout the majority of football season, likely until Christmas. Any exceptions to this will be noted.

This one's a maybe for me. I've seen the official schedules with a federal election coming up in Canada, and TV stations in British Columbia normally begin reporting at 7 PM or earlier.
CHEK's official schedule says that it begins at 8 PM on September 20th, meaning I could watch Wheel at 7:00 after all, and CHEK is considered an independent station. Still, I have a feeling they might continue from their 6:00 newscast...

^ In 2019, the Canadian Federal Election coverage did start at 7:00 on CHEK, but they aired Wheel at 6:00 that day. Zap2It still has Wheel at 7:00 on 9/20.

FRIDAY 9/17 (#S-7430)
Starting today, Wheel will air at 2:07 AM Eastern on Friday nights on WBZ in Boston (CBS) due to local NFL program Patriots All Access. This will continue on Friday throughout the majority of football season, likely until the New England Patriots are no longer eligible for the Super Bowl. Any exceptions to this will be noted.
On WTOV in Steubenville, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia (NBC), tonight's Wheel will air at 9:30 PM Eastern due to a local high school football game. It is slotted immediately following the game, so it will likely get joined in progress if the broadcast runs long.
On WBRE in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania (NBC), tonight's Wheel will air at 2:42 AM Eastern, in place of an infomercial, due to NBC Universal's Clear the Shelters pet adoption special, which is scheduled locally over this weekend by the O&O's and some other NBC affiliates.
EDIT: This episode did not air on KBAK in Bakersfield, California (CBS). According to a viewer on the show's Facebook page, they accidentally aired #S-7431 one weekday too early. They aired it again on its proper Monday air date.

SATURDAY 9/18 (#S-7251RR)
7:00 ET airings on CBS were pre-empted entirely due to college football postgame running until 7:30. ABC's final game overran about 20 minutes. While KXTV and KATU both JIP'd or skipped Wheel on Monday, they did air it in its proper post-game time slot this time around.
Due to Sunday's NFL game running straight into the Emmys, KMVT in Twin Falls, Idaho moved Wheel to Sunday at 9:30 PM Mountain, half an hour after the Emmys finish. They normally air the reruns Sundays at 5:30 (almost-always JIP'd or skipped due to NFL overrun). Oddly, their website lists the reruns as different episodes with different theme names. Tonight's is listed as "Teacher's Week" instead of "Bed & Breakfast", and the next weekend is listed as "America's Game" instead of "Spa Getaway".
EDIT: The Emmys ran over by about 17 minutes. Although KMVT's website said they'd air an infomercial at 9:00, they actually aired the CBS Fall Preview special, which ran in its entirety after the Emmys and Wheel was JIP'd afterward. It was the correct rerun despite the online listings being wrong; it appears the online schedule is listing them as the reruns from the Season 37 rotation, as Teacher's Week and America's Game were the themes of the first two S37 weekend reruns.

MONDAY 9/20 (#S-7431)*EARLY AIRING ALERT*On WLUK in Green Bay, Wisconsin (FOX), tonight's Wheel will air 90 minutes earlier than usual at 5:00 PM Central, due to their local carriage of tonight's Monday Night Football game featuring the Packers hosting the Lions. WLUK will be preceding the game with an hour-long pregame special at 6:00, moving Wheel and Jeopardy! to the 5:00 hour in place of what is normally an hour-long newscast. There is a slight chance that Wheel and J! are listed in the wrong order. Normally, WLUK airs J! before Wheel, and usually when both shows are pre-empted and moved early, J! airs at 5:00 and Wheel at 5:30. This is still unusual, as most pre-emptions affecting both shows only see one show moved to 5:30 (usually Wheel), or both shows moved to after the game. Assuming Wheel does air at 5:00 CT, I will be livestreaming this airing on twitch.tv/wheelsneakpeek. Fortunately, my feed of WLUK is HD and in the proper aspect ratio, unlike NTV.
EDIT: WLUK's Twitter confirmed the scheduling is correct.

Last Friday's episode did not air on KBAK in Bakersfield, California (CBS). According to a viewer on the show's Facebook page, they accidentally aired tonight's episode (Monday 9/20) one weekday too early. They aired it again tonight on its proper air date, and she wondered why she saw "this same episode".

SATURDAY 9/25 (#S-7268RR)
This episode originally aired the day after Election Day 2020. At this point, NBC was still running optional election coverage at 7:00 ET, so some affiliates opted to run that instead of syndicated programming.
WDIV in Detroit pre-empted both airings of this episode. NBC had the Ryder Cup golf tournament until 7:00 ET today, so WDIV did local news following it at 7:00, and slid the infomercial that normally airs at 7:00 to 7:30, pre-empting Weekend Wheel.
Once again, college football on CBS ran until 7:30 exactly, so many East Coast CBS airings of Wheel were fully pre-empted, except for some 7:30/6:30 Central airings that weren't replaced with slid newscasts or had the beginning cut off; KTVT in Dallas always starts Wheel in the middle of the interviews when CBS runs CFB until 7:30. KHOU in Houston starts it from the beginning, however. For those who use location spoofing with CBS affiliate streaming on Paramount+, KHOU is my top recommendation for 7:30 ET airings.
Last Saturday, KFSM in Fort Smith, Arkansas skipped their 6:00 news and showed Wheel after CFB ended. However, they posted a tweet today saying that Wheel would air at 12:35 AM Central, apparently having been rescheduled on the fly. It's likely that they aired local news or postgame following the game since the Arkansas Razorbacks won it.
FOX had the Braves/Padres game today starting at 7:00 ET, pre-empting Wheel nationwide. KDVR in Denver scheduled Wheel at 8:30 MT, but that did not air because the game went into extra innings and is still going as I'm typing this at 9:20 MT.
ABC's college football only ran about five minutes over. I believe the only ABC's that schedule Weekend Wheel immediately after CFB are the ones that almost-always do it for any sporting event: KOTA in Rapid City and KAEF in Eureka. I still need to post the CFB season WOFW air times.
I keep forgetting to check my feed, but I assume WPXI in Pittsburgh is pre-empting WOFW with The Jerome Bettis Show again this season and airing Wheel at 4:00 AM. Their website still has Wheel listed Saturdays at 7:30 PM, but their site also has archive video of Bettis' show from 9/11, 18, and today.

Skipping Monday because I didn't see anything for that day, and this week's MNF game isn't on any Wheel affiliates.
Rule of thumb for WPVI viewers. Eagles MNF games air on WPVI (sometimes with a pregame show that pre-empts Wheel) unless Dancing With the Stars is on that night (which is the case this week), in which case the game and pregame show air on WPHL, the local MyNetworkTV affiliate that shares news operations with WPVI, but isn't a sister station in any other regard.

TUESDAY 9/28 (#S-7437)
Posting this in advance because this is a pretty major one.
Due to the New Jersey Gubernatorial Debate, Tuesday's episode is pre-empted on WABC in New York and WPVI in Philadelphia.
WABC will air Wheel at 3:35 AM Eastern (or possibly 3:37). WPVI will air it at 3:07 AM. In both cases, this replaces part of the Tamron Hall encore.
