I know it’s a bit early, but I was wondering what you all would want to see in this upcoming milestone season. Here are my thoughts:
1. Better puzzle writing. (Sadly the puzzle writing now is still poor but nowhere near as bad as S35-37.)
2. More variety on the wheel. (Change the colors; make it more vibrant! You’ve been using the same ones since 2008! Add some more money; 750, 1000, 1500, 2000)
3. Remove the prize puzzle. PLEASE.
4. This might cause some debate, but, remove the million dollar wedge, make the million playable to everyone in the bonus round as well as the $100K; one 100K envelope, one million envelope. In addition, kind of make a throwback to the 90s by making a million dollar sign akin to the old $25K sign)
5. Bring back older categories (Clue, Who Said It?, Next Line Please, Fill in the Number, etc.)
6. Bring back other elements (Jackpot, Surprise, Free Spin, etc.)
7. More variety with bonus round prizes. (Minimum $40K AND STAY THERE. More cash prizes such as 45K, 50K, 55K, 60K, 75K; and PLEASE offer more expensive cars!)
8. Somewhere along the lines a Retro Week.
9. Probably just to troll Pat, bring back Megaword. (Obviously that won’t happen but it’ll be funny.)

I also hope Bellamie and co. make several changes to freshen the show up a little. Some of those changes (bonus round prizes, puzzle writing, more Wheel variety) I agree with.

-Bring back audiences, at the very least allow contestants to have family and friends with them in the audience.
-One or two road shows, I'd especially love New York City.
-More variety in the wheel amounts
-Move the $5,000 space to round 3 and make $6,000 or even $7,500 the top dollar value for round 4+
-A retro week, or even a retro month celebrating each decade of the syndicated show's run since the 80s.

Predictions: -Some 40 wedge of some kind. Maybe a R3 $4,000 wedge? -Audiences to come back in limited form
Hopes: -Force the Prize Puzzle to R1, while keeping Mystery and Express where they are -Decades to be widened up from The 50's to The 20's -Better writing -for them to surprise me after the giant overhaul last season

I know the pandemic isn’t over yet. But I would love for Wheel to come to New York City to celebrate their 40th anniversary. My hope was for them to tape maybe four weeks of shows at Radio City Music Hall. Next year marks 10 years the last time Wheel taped in New York City. To me, Radio City Music Hall is the premier place for Wheel whenever they come to New York City and Radio City Music Hall is my favorite place in New York City. The other place they taped in New York City was The Theater at Madison Square Garden (Now called Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden).
If the pandemic isn’t over maybe they can allow fully vaccinated fans only to attend live tapings. Those who are unvaccinated should wear a mask indoors.

Here's what I'm hoping for, assuming they respectively keep Rounds 2 and 3 the Mystery Round and the Express Round. Nonetheless, I'm open to the possibility of them coming up with a new idea for Season 40. www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/Wheel-of-Fortune-Season-40-Proposal-Round-1-913407179www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/Wheel-of-Fortune-Season-40-Proposal-Round-2-913407614www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/Wheel-of-Fortune-Season-40-Proposal-Round-3-913407727www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/Wheel-of-Fortune-Season-40-Proposal-Round-4-913407980And as for Celebrity Wheel, I'm not expecting them to do this for Season 3, but hopefully by Season 4, they'll do something like this. www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/Celebrity-Wheel-of-Fortune-Season-3-or-4-Round-1-913605126www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/Celebrity-Wheel-of-Fortune-Season-3-or-4-Round-2-913605810www.deviantart.com/germanname/art/Celebrity-Wheel-of-Fortune-Season-3-or-4-Round-3-913606213Now having the Prize Puzzle in Round 1 probably wouldn't be a bad idea, woffan9821 . It'll give the other two players an idea of what to beat with more chances to do so, which could possibly help make it much fairer. And yes, keep the Bonus Round minimum at $40,000 for Season 41. There's no doubt in my mind $40,000 is enough.

Add some more money; 750, 1000, 1500, 2000) Speaking of Wheel colors, I do agree it's time for new color change. Maybe adopt the color scheme from CWOF! I thought those colors looked cool. However (and this is what I know for myself), if there is at least one thing on the wheel that needs a new color, it's the LOSE-A-TURN wedge! Personally, I loved it better when it was yellow. But when I first saw the wedge colored in white in 1996, I thought there was a problem with the color of my screen or maybe it was the lights in the studio. Anyway, I honestly think it's time to give LOSE-A-TURN a new color like Red, Caution Orange, or maybe go back to yellow. Any color would do it because that white LOSE-A-TURN wedge...so 1996!

(Obviously that won’t happen but it’ll be funny.) – The current colors on the wedges actually have been in use since 2006 when the show started airing in HD – Or go back to one of the older practices of the prize puzzle: have it occur only once a week, and in any of the first three rounds. – I actually like that idea. In fact I especially would like older elements used in the '90s to return (e.g. red letter puzzles, surprise wedge, double play). Idk why TPTB got rid of the free play this past season; I thought that was a good gameplay element. At least bring back free play in other words (even if its on a cardboard wedge this time around). Jackpot I don't see coming back, as it was retired at the end of Season 30. – If there is a Retro Week, perhaps they could use backdrops of some of the older sets (e.g. the sunflowers from 1983-89, chevrons from 1989-1992, pinwheels from 1992-97), have the LEDs on the borders be gold instead of blue and lavender, and have the font on the puzzle board be the serif font that was used on the trilons.

Germanname, you made your layouts for Season 40 so here is mine. www.deviantart.com/spinthewheel123/art/A-possible-Season-40-Wheel-920149842Some other changes I want to see No more white things. The return of special music for the commercials. And, the home from Home Sweet Home week is available for all weeks. One thing I would change if that happens is that the home would only be available if they pick up the Home Wedge.

To me, it just didn't sound right and wasn't quite fitting for Wheel. That's why I'm happy they did away with all that when they brought back "Changing Keys."

About the chevrons, although they lasted until 1991 when the Daytime Show was cancelled, they were only used during the 7th Season (1989-1990) of the Nighttime Show before being replaced the following season (Season 8) with the Diamond Backdrops which were adopted until 1992. Despite being replaced with the Pinwheels in the fall of that same year, the Diamond Backdrops remained intact and in service for Road Shows until 1995. Also, as for the LEDs on the set, I agree that they should make them gold instead of blue, purple, lavender. In my opinion, those colors (particularly the blue) have become a complete eyesore not just for Wheel, but for every other Game Show that's been using it since the early to mid-2000s. Don't get me wrong, they're nice colors and I do like. But why not go for other colors like Red, Orange, Gold, or Pink? You don't see those often, nor do you see them on the set backgrounds like you used to in the Golden Age. Or even better, why not go for Rainbow instead? I'll just bet that might look cool for TV! Lol.

I also can imagine that the last piece of the CWoF set gets carried over to the syndicated series for S40. We had the extra frame around the puzzle board introduced midway into Season 38. This past season, the giant monitor behind the contestants was replaced by the physical WoF logo; and the backdrop behind the puzzle board changed to split arches. However, the structures surrounding the video monitor between the puzzle board and the wheel (as seen when Pat and Vanna walk on to the set during the intro) are the same as when the 2010 generic set was introduced. So I am wondering if that will be replaced by the wheel cutouts and curved frames we see on CWoF, thereby putting in the last piece of the puzzle.

I doubt they’d copy the CWOF look completely, to keep the versions looking different. But I do hope they’d at least do something different in terms of the generic set on both sides of the stage.

I feel that the show will have a proper celebration of its history, most likely with a retrospective week of episodes similar to what TPiR did this past season in a single show - with the executives' realization that this very well may be Pat and Vanna's final milestone anniversary with Wheel. Obviously they can't take liberties to stretch out a single episode into a multi-hour affair, so such a week would encapsulate the same idea realistically within the constraints they've been given. Probably lots of old clips (added bonus: they don't have to go out of their way dub over "Changing Keys" anymore), stories from people associated with the show over the years, sharing historical artifacts, etc.
Not to reopen Pandora's Box, but I feel like this would've been right up Mike Richards' alley strictly in terms of oversight. Obviously his behavior presence precluded any input, and undoubtedly for the better. Let's leave it at that. Maybe Bellamie and Steve will surprise us as well, and we can only trust that they will treat it with the care and grandeur it deserves. Time will tell.

Don't go into this with any expectation of them acknowledging any element of Wheel's history before September 1983, or else you will be sorely disappointed. Mark my words.

I expect that Vanna's first permanent show will be mentioned, at least the minute that she's introduced, and maybe the post-game chat.

I’m also hoping that the logo is some sort of throwback to the 80s; using the traditional logo instead of the two-row. And hopefully it’s something other than silver, honestly.
