I wanted to see the return of $750. Since $850 returned and $950 finally appeared on Celebrity shows.

I really hope the top prize would be 500K instead of 100K in Season 40

Making the top prize $500,000 instead of 100 is audacious, even by Wheel standards, but given Sony’s budget, I doubt that’ll happen.
Even my own prediction of having the million available for everyone in the bonus round is a bit risky.

Even my own prediction of having the million available for everyone in the bonus round is a bit risky. IMO, they should have done that on CWOF, given how they try so hard to give it away to the point where the MDW gets hit like ten times an episode and most contestants at least pick one up at some point. Hard to get excited about the million when literally every promo and press pic shows a celeb holding one up.

Well, it’s officially confirmed; audiences are back! 😁😁😁
I won’t be able to get tickets, been very busy, but should anyone get a chance, provide us updates if they changed anything gameplay-wise or aesthetically! ❤️

Personal hopes: I would love it if older Wheel elements would appear every now and then. My idea is one of the normal special wedges (Express wedge, MD wedge, Mystery wedge, etc.) gets taken out and replaced by another element for one week. That element gets put on the wheel for the entire week and is replaced by another random wedge next week, and the week after, so on and so forth. Speaking of that, it would be cool if one week revolved around the fans making Wheel designs online, and the best designs get put on the show. It would be a fun bit of interaction for the show's 40th season. Just for fun, why not bring Megaword back for April Fools Day. Everyone will be pissed but it's just for one day so why the hell not. Agreeing with you lot, now would be a good time to retire the season number being the minimum prize for the bonus round. And again another agreeance is to have cars in the BR that are more expensive than $40K. Also also, road shows! Probably won't happen but still, road shows!

I hope they finally stop airing the WOF Free Play ad where the mom does "The Floss"... Agreed. I feel like a ad just showing you the game would have been a better fit, not "how do you do fellow kids" central.

For a change, I would love to see the following to happen:
- A reshuffled wheel layout where the penalty wedges are in new spots
- The color scheme of the wedges gets a new combination
- A new layout of dollar amounts, possibly having $750 back in the mix with some 4-digit values
- Get the Free Spin token back to be available for rounds 1-3
- A new puzzleboard design (more like a new border)
- Classic puzzles and categories from the eighties and nineties
- Flashback clips of memorable moments after a commercial break before starting a new round with Pat and Vanna reminiscing
- Tributes honoring Merv, Charlie, Jack, and other staff of Wheel

One more change that I’m hoping for is to spice up the bonus wheel’s colors a bit. It looks too stale with just blue and purple; put some red or yellow in it!

I really don’t see much changing during the first season with a new producer. We already know as of early July that the set and Wheel layout are the same, and they are continuing starting the season with Teacher’s Week. Season 40 will probably be Season 39B. Hopefully unlike S35 she won’t think that the best way to celebrate S40 is to have more 80’s puzzles. The best I see is that maybe we get better puzzle writing, but even with Mike, the improvements weren’t much.
I hope Bellamie eventually does make an effort to let Wheel stand out and not just lay back and accept J! getting all the glory and doing all the events Wheel should be doing.

Those photos we’ve seen of the set in the last couple months were taken on the hiatus during studio tours…I assume any set tweaks or updates to the wheel may not be actually changed until very close to the first taping…so it’s a bit too soon to judge that.

One more change that I’m hoping for is to spice up the bonus wheel’s colors a bit. It looks too stale with just blue and purple; put some red or yellow in it! Thank you! Not just the bonus wheel, but the entire set as well. Don't get me wrong, blue and purple are nice colors especially on TV. But over the years since i.e. 2003, when those colors have become more predominate on the sets of game shows like Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, & more so on Jeopardy since there's always a lot of blue on their sets (except when it used to turn red for Double Jeopardy! back in the day ), they've gradually become more of an eyesore. So, with Wheel of Fortune, it would be so nice to see some new colors on the set. And the colors I'd love to see are Red, Orange, Gold, and Pink and more of the same on the set background. But I still love to see more of the black starry background. That gives the set a cleaner and more colorful look!

It's hard to tell. Maybe it's just some type of special shield designed to protect the screens.

^ Possibly. One would think the production designers would instruct the crew to drape the entire board rather than shielding the screens from the interior, though. We'll know soon enough.

Well, Mike had other…. priorities to tend to. Albeit he was probably at least semi-responsible for CWOF and the house addition during Home Sweet Home week. The puzzle writing at least stayed at bay during the season and change with him.

It seems that among internet game show circles, more are concurring with the theory that the puzzleboard now consists of a single display. This would mark the biggest technological leap the show has made since the board went electronic over 25 years ago, and there are a few reasons why it would make sense from a production standpoint:
1) There would be at least dozens, if not hundreds, fewer failure points. The current board consists of 52 separate monitors and the touch activated sensors associated with each one (totaling at least 104 components). If any individual component fails during taping, then it could result in lengthy production delays to repair it - which the producers would want to prevent as often as possible. Under the assumption that the new board is a single screen and a touch input (or multiple touch inputs), then there would be reduced opportunities for malfunction and therefore less overall interruptions. The producers are constantly looking for opportunities to make the show as close to live-to-tape as possible, and this would expedite the realization of that goal.
2) It provides plenty more possibilities for customization. For example, the designs of individual squares could be easily modified for theme weeks. Envision this: a 40th anniversary "retro week" that allows it to be designed like the 80s-90s puzzleboard, with animated green-sequined "trilons" that, when touched, rotate (again, via animation) to expose a blank on one side, and a letter in the original typeface on the third. (Are you listening, producers?) Plus, the board would no longer have to be a predominantly static set element. It could function as an extra display that could be used whenever the game isn't being played. I'd imagine the show could use it to show vintage clips coming in and out of commercials. Of course this is all brainstorming from me, but it illustrates that the potential is endless with this technology, and that skilled producers shouldn't be afraid to take advantage of it.
3) It would usher in a technological evolution that the show simply has not taken in decades, and the 40th anniversary season provides the best opportunity to showcase that step. Simple as the show's premise may be, its future should not have to rely on nearly 30-year-old technology in the 2020s, particularly when Wheel's parent company is a giant multinational tech corporation. Undertaking a change like this is a signal that the show's producers (and perhaps the new ones) are willing to advance it with the times.
