Season 40 Pre-emptions and Anomalies

NFL Preseason Week 3 pre-emptions below. The Bills are playing on Saturday at 1:00 PM which means a Buffalo Kickoff Live pre-emption is likely, on top of the two other pre-emptions this week on the NY Nexstar stations. There is also a network-wide game this week that will affect all of the West Coast.

No 7:00 ET airings were affected. All Big Three 7:30 airings were.

NBC cut in first at 7:30 on the dot. CBS cut in at 7:33, presumably shortly into R1. ABC did not cut in until 7:39, with R1 airing in its entirety on that network. WPVI interrupted at the start of the Mystery Round bumper, while WABC interrupted as Pat was pointing out the Mystery Wedges.

CBS was the only network to sign off before 8:00, at 7:50, during the Speed-Up. NBC and ABC signed off at 8:00.


KTVT simulcast Wheel on KTXA in its entirety. Doug Dunbar did not mention this, but did warn viewers when signing off the 6:00 news that Wheel would be interrupted at some point.

The original airing of this episode was not known to have been pre-empted anywhere.

#S-7459RR was pre-empted in the majority of the country, except for most 7:00 ET ABC airings, including WPLG Miami, and KLAS and KVAL in terms of CBS West Coast (KBAK was pre-empted by a preseason game and did not air at all).

ABC had its first college football game starting at 7:30 ET. NBC had NASCAR starting at 7:00. FOX had college football until 7:00, followed by MLB (the OG airing was also pre-empted on FOX by TNF). CBS had PGA scheduled until 7:00, but due to a weather delay, it did not end until about 8:20, wiping all East Coast airings and joining most Mountain Time Zone airings in progress around the Speed-Up.

WABC aired Wheel at 5:00 AM ET and WTNH aired it at 1:00 PM, both on Sunday and both in their entirety. KQTV in St. Joseph, MO moved Wheel up half an hour to 6:00 PM CT on Saturday, presumably replacing their 6:00 newscast.

NBC has the NFL Kickoff tonight starting at 7:00 ET, affecting all airings of Wheel.

WATL and WMTV have announced their usual moves: Wheel will air on WATL and WMTV-DT2, respectively.

WTWO in Terre Haute, IN pre-empts Wheel two days in a row. Wednesday was pre-empted by a college football special. Wednesday and Thursday's episodes were/are scheduled for 3:00 AM ET Thursday and 4:00 AM Friday.
