Season 40 Saturday Reruns

Late afternoon/evening college football is done on CBS starting this weekend.

Weekend Wheel also reverts to its normal time slots on East Coast ABC affiliates for this weekend only, since ABC only had one game. However, it will not permanently return until January 13.

It has been back on most NBC affiliates since November 25.

We have our first three-peat of Season 40 on Super Bowl Weekend.

Turns out it's quite a notable episode: it's the first appearance of Fan Favorite Ricky Gilbert, who gave us the first of two total clean sweeps in Season 40. Sadly, he's a WABC viewer, and the only ABC viewer on that episode. Hopefully WABC schedules this airing on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon like they sometimes do, rahter than 5 AM Saturday or Sunday morning. They've aired WOF Weekend at 1:30 PM on Easter Saturdays in the past.


Also, I bet Fred Fletcher-Jackson's first episode will rerun sometime this summer.

There is a rare instance of all five episodes from one week (Fabulous Food) appearing in Saturday reruns this season. This is the first time this has happened since Wheel Loves NY week from Season 34.

The rerun for August 24 has changed. It is now listed on my Xfinity app (8/31 still isn't).

It is now #S-7757, Fred's first episode! Luckily, both of his markets (DC and Baltimore) are airing it at the normal time; ABC starts college football at 7:30 ET on 8/24 and WJLA is keeping Wheel put at 7:00 leading into it, and Baltimore airs WOF Weekend on the local CW affiliate which has no sports that day. WABC doesn't schedule pre-empted weekend reruns until one or two weeks out, hence why it wasn't listed at all in their market until now. WABC will air #S-7757RR on Sunday 8/25 at 2:00 PM.

Fred's brand new Wheel Winners segment, which first aired on July 30, was also dubbed into the August 10 rerun. Seems they're trying to squeeze in all the Season 40 Fan Favorites, similar to how J! is rerunning the ToC participants' runs right now. With this, Tanino Privitera is now the only Fan Favorite from Season 40 whose first episode never reran (and seemingly never will because of a certain puzzle).

August 31 is now listed on Zap2It... (These listings are from Canada and Buffalo, NY)




If this is correct, this is #S-7663... which reran just five weeks prior on July 27. Rerunning the same episode twice in the same season on WOF Weekend isn't unheard of (it last happened with S35, plus an S37 ep reran during both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 runs), but only five weeks apart??

78 episodes (40% of the season) only aired on television once, an improvement over S39's 89.
112 episodes aired twice, and 5 aired three times.

Five weeks (four themes) did not rerun at all: Secret Santa, WWE, HSN, and Star Wars.
