DNC Night 1 overran about an hour and a half! Wheel definitely did not air on any CBS's or ABC's; Bachelorette fans on the West Coast on Reddit said the show didn't start for them until about 9:34 PM PT, and ran in its entirety, presumably with the affiliates skipping over the shows scheduled at 10:00 and 10:30 to the 11:00 news. CBS had two reruns of NCIS but still ran both in their entirety, and NBC had a new American Ninja Warrior.

Likely because of the constant overruns and/or the huge ratings, all networks have expanded DNC coverage to two hours from 9-11 ET/6-8 PT for Wednesday and Thursday. This now gives the West Coast two hours in primetime to schedule local programming, but Wheel is now impacted in Arizona as well, and at least CBS and NBC are offering filler programming of network show reruns (The Neighborhood/Young Sheldon and Dateline) for the stations to air in that window.
KABC and KGO now have Wheel at 9:00 PM PT instead of 10:00, immediately after Millionaire, and local news starting at 10:00 instead of 11:00. Wheel still likely won't air in its entirety and will be JIP'd or skipped once Millionaire finishes.
KLAS Las Vegas still has Wheel at 10:30 PM PT and now has news scheduled from 9-10. In past instances with this scheduling, KLAS did not run the news past 10 no matter how late it started, so Wheel has a decent chance of airing in its entirety on this station. KBAK Bakersfield is airing Neighborhood/YS and will probably run them in their entirety, which may mean Wheel gets cut off or skipped if they run J! in full after YS.
Wheel is now impacted on KGUN Tucson (9:30 PM PT after Scripps News Reports, should be okay if overrun is <30 minutes) and KYMA Yuma (No Wheel at all; they are airing Dateline at 9 and news at 10). Wheel is not impacted on KTVK Phoenix as they are not airing the DNC.

The extension to two hours for the DNC still failed in getting it to end on time. SATURDAY-SUNDAY, AUGUST 24-25 (#S-7757RR)All ABC airings (except 7:00 ET) are pre-empted by college football. All NBC airings are pre-empted by NASCAR. All FOX airings are pre-empted by MLS Soccer. ABC had the Little League World Series scheduled until 6:00 ET, but it overran to about 6:40. As a result, most stations opted to pre-empt ABC World News Tonight with the local 6:00 newscasts, some of which ended at 7:00 but some ran for a full half hour past 7:00. WJLA did the latter; Wheel was not on at 7:00 but was on by R3. Some ABC affiliates aired #S-7757RR on Sunday afternoon. WTNH aired it at 1:00 ET and WABC at 2:00. WPBF in West Palm Beach had Wheel listed twice over the weekend on most sources: Saturday at 7:00 PM and Sunday at 1:00 PM (followed by Saturday's J! rerun and Friday's rerun of J! Masters which was pre-empted by a Dolphins preseason game). Previously, any time 7:30 was pre-empted on a Saturday, WPBF would move up J! to 7:00 and replace Wheel, but they did not do this this time. Wheel did air at 7:00 on Saturday in its entirety, following a delayed local newscast in place of WNT. Sunday at 1:00 ended up being an airing of Hearst-owned streaming series "Local Love". This was also the final weekend where East Coast CBS airings of WOF Weekend are not impacted by sports, and college football starts up on NBC next Saturday, so WOF Weekend will be off on most NBC's (along with ABC and FOX, and CBS in some cases) for the next few months. KSDK in St. Louis will be airing WOF Weekend early Saturday mornings at 5:30 AM CT. |

FOX has College Football from 7:30-11:30 ET. All FOX airings of #S-7984RR are pre-empted except for WXIX, WSYT, and KVHP. KHON will be impacted if overrun is more than half an hour. WLUK has Wheel an hour early at 5:30 CT.

The game kickoff time got pushed back to 9PM ET which means any overrun at this rate might impact KHON but the question now is that due to the delay does FOX still sign on at 7:30? We will have to see.
