As long as it's quick taped things like Tennis Week, I can live with it

Looks like a fun set-up, though, with a neat tie that Jim's wearing! Sorry, I'm a sucker for travel and geography-type themes, as I majored in Social Studies Ed in college.

Pure Paradise, week of 3/25. Yes, that was the set. You can see my wife in the background too. Looking forward to seeing these when they air as I don't remember many of the puzzles.

Three things come to mind: 1) The NBA logo looks pretty good on the monitors. 2) Speaking of the monitors, that angle really emphasizes they're flat-panel. And they look cool. 3) ... You. Have. NBA celebrities. Right there! Why in all that's decent aren't they playing on NBA Week instead?!

Because celeb shows are charity-only shows and aren't as fun to watch as basically every other show.

Some articles are saying that there will be NBA players as contestants (Chris Paul, Grant Hill, and DeAndre Jordan, all LA Clippers players who are appearing in-studio. The other stars mentioned will be pre-recorded), but that just doesn't make sense. They're very likely just misinterpreting the press release.

... That really doesn't help matters.
Maybe Wheel doesn't do celeb-inclusive games because they want to avoid the middleman? Or maybe they just don't like most charities.
You could've had these three playing with the week's players, with the grand total split between charities of the players' choice. (Then again, that would require not doing a sixth taping.)
I wonder if any celebrity guests have asked why they can't actually play the game?

Starting this Monday (February 4), the ticket request form for the NYC tapings will be online. While the times are not confirmed yet, judging by the Portland tapings, they will probably be 3:30 and 7:30 PM, with doors opening at 2:00 and 6:00.
Again, anybody who was planning on going to any of these tapings, please PM me. Thanks.

I wonder if any celebrity guests have asked why they can't actually play the game? Maybe Wheel just thinks it is dumb to have multi-millionaires joking around having a fun time winning $2000? $3000? Maybe $15000 for one of them for charity while America is going through one of the hardest economic times ever. Maybe they would rather see average people win good sums of money and be happy and joyous about it. Nah, that can't be it. Charities are great, don't get me wrong. However, if these NBA Stars really want to donate, why don't they just fork up $50,000 or $100,000 of their own money and give it to a good cause instead of pretending they care about a charity winning $10,000 because they spun a wheel and called letters. Anyways, that's just probably 5AM talking. It is just something that bugs me.

Can we leave politics out of this, please?
Perhaps they just didn't feel like doing them. Or maybe perhaps they want to make sure the contestants remain front and center, like they should be, despite what other certain game show producers may think *cough*MikeRichards*cough*. Why does it matter?

Can we leave politics out of this, please? I'm curious - where exactly were politics brought into this? Democrat Republican or Independent or Anything else everyone will agree these aren't the best times for the economy no matter who is running the country.....which, makes my point that seeing rich people joke around on TV winning pebbles for charity isn't always the best TV...

Fair point, but what about five years ago when Wheel stopped doing celebrity-inclusive games? The economy wasn't nearly as bad then.

Same point could hold true then, they probably just thought it was dumb. Speaking of dumb, 'Price' just announced their own, yippie.
