It's kinda cool that a developer for the game is contacting our little group here Let me go ahead and get it out of the way now but everyone will probably have some objection to taking one turn and being done. I know you're trying to be fair to others who might be playing the game but I don't think it's necessary. I think anyone buying the app knows enough that sometimes momentum shifts one way or the other either by playing another version of the app or being a loyal follower of the show. The thing that concerns me is that it might be frustrating having to wait your turn after getting a letter right. I could see a lot of confusion happening there. To sum it up, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Hi, I'm actually the Product Manager at Scopely for the app. We only released it briefly in Canada to test some things out. Sorry if a) you weren't able to play or b) it didn't meet expectations. We will be releasing it again to test and should do a global launch on Android and iOS early next year. Andrew! Boy, are we glad to meet you! Welcome to the Buy A Vowel boards! Yes, I was the guy over at Facebook asking you folks at Scopely all about this game. So I'm very happy and very excited to know all this information you're providing us. And to know for sure that it will be out for iOS puts a huge smile on my face. I know I'm going to have to wait a bit, but at least I have some confirmation about that. Now I was looking forward to this game being the first ever game to have the Express wedge (just like I was about the N64 version having the now-retired Jackpot wedge), but even with all the info and gameplay structure we've already known about, I was not going to be surprised if the Express didn't make it. But again, thank you for the information. I'm looking forward to its release. In the meantime, if there's any further information you're allowed to share with us, I'd be pleased to hear about it.

1) You don't keep your turn with a correct guess. Seems crazy I know. But imagine a scenario where you go to play someone and you never get to play. Or imagine a scenario where you start, spin the wheel, lose a turn, and then never get to play. Is that how you want to spend time during that commercial break?
2) Not all wedges will be on the wheel at launch. No mystery, no express. You'll be playing human opponents in the game, but it'll be their saved replay so it's hard to handle those wedges. 1) It sounds like the speedup round but with spinning involved. So there are no computer opponents? Will this be something that will be added later on? 2) What wedges are on the wheel, generic prize wedges, or will there be legitimate show ones ( ie. Million Wedge, 1/2 Car)?

Welcome to the site, Andrew. Great to have you here. You've found the right place for getting feedback, I'd say. I'll wait until I actually get to play the game until I really make any judgments about it. The "turn-based" play might be a nice twist when playing with friends. Is this going to take a very "social" approach like, say, Words With Friends?

Hi all,
I'm back. The Wheel of Fortune game is back in Canada for the next few hours for testing. So download it or update your old version before it's down again. It will also be available in the UK for the next few weeks as we test out some stuff.
This version has a daily puzzle and tournaments feature plus a new set of destinations.
Andrew

If only you folks up there in Canada as well as across the pond in the UK could please show us some shots. I would just love to see how everything (Puzzle Board, Wheel, etc.) looks.

I've attached four images. - View of gameboard and the spin, vowel, and solve buttons - View of wheel with 'prize' wedge and bankrupt wedge visible - View of World Tour interface (this will be changing by the time you see it next) - View of Hollywood prizes (you collect them all for prizes and to unlock more puzzles)

I really like how the Prize Wedge is based on the Mystery Wedge design.

It looks pretty good. Although it has to pass a lot of time until I could try it. Andrew, do you have plans to release it worldwide? I'm from Spain and I would like to play it

I have some fantastic news for everyone. I just saw gameplay of Scopely's game on YouTube (the user's either from the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand). I'm not going to post the video here since it has some language in it, but I'm going to tell you what I know.
The Wheel layout will be the same as the barren Round 1 layout from Season 31 with a couple differences. One, the Free Play is a yellow $1000 space. Two, there are two Prize wedges, and instead of being on the orange $300, one of them is located between the purple $500 between $800 and $450 while the other is located between $400 and $600. The Prize wedges have collections.
There is also a Bonus Wheel (two-pegs for each wedge) that can be spun for $7500 (in-game currency; IGC). Prize wedges are named Prize, Common, Rare, and Exotic.
As for gameplay apart from the tutorials, every level starts with a Toss-Up. After that, you can start your turn by spinning, buying, or solving. After choosing a correct consonant, you have the option of buying one vowel or passing your turn. If you choose to buy a vowel, you can buy only one. After that, it's either solving or passing your turn.
If you win, you'll go to the Bonus Round for more IGC.
Another really cool feature in the game is a map of the Sony Pictures Studios that's structured hardly any different from Candy Crush Saga, Pet Rescue Saga or other games that iKing has released.
Yeah, the game was scheduled to be released earlier this year, but by comparing the video to the screenshots we already have, I sense a release in U.S. markets, at least for Android, sometime soon.

You can post the video link. If a video ever has language or anything like that, just post a warning along with the link.

Well, I appreciate the info, MarioGS, and as for woffan4ever, thanks for showing us the video. Now I got some more information. The game is out right now in Australia, at least for iOS. In fact, Scopely just updated the game to version 3.0.1 on July 21st. Despite the absence of the Free Play wedge, the game is called Wheel of Fortune Free Play. It's free to download but has in-game store. I'll keep everyone posted once I find out some more information such as when it's released in the U.S. Anyone's welcome to do the same.

I really like the graphics. They remind me of the DS game. It's different from traditional WOF in terms of gameplay, but that's definitely not a bad thing. I like how it follows the mainstream "social game" approach of a lot of trendy mobile games these days while remaining satisfactory for WOF fans both hardcore and casual. I hope I get to play this with my personal friends and family sometime. Does anyone know if, when this is fully released, the 30th Anniversary app will remain available for purchase?

So, here's a new ad, not promoting the Scopely app, but the current 30th anniversary app...unless this is an old ad that I have just not seen before.

Did anyone else notice that the girl's flipper was on Bankrupt?

That commercial is definitely new, shot probably during Season 32, or in the offseason before S33 tapings began. The scoreboards have the Wheel texture which has supposedly been changed to a generic cloudy texture for Season 33. I like the commercial but it has three of the four annoying cliches of Wheel parodies: having the logo as the background image instead of generic scenery (which they SHOULD be doing on the show proper and they probably did it here because they know it looks better but can't do it on the actual show ), calling for letters by asking "Is there a(n)...?", and giving a score for all three players just for aesthetic purposes because they know it wouldn't look as good if the mid-round scores were something more realistic like $2,100-$650-(blank). It's not that often that all three players have money in the middle of a round, especially on a short puzzle. The fourth cliche is having two men and one woman as the contestants. At least they got that part right. And yes, I noticed "Lisa"'s flipper was on Bankrupt. ...Does Pat look younger or is it just me? I like how this commercial cleverly worked around the fact that they were unable to have Pat or Vanna. Other commercials have tried to "hide" them, make the board automatic, or use voiceovers that don't sound like Pat at all. The worst was that car commercial from 2008 where they would clever camera angles as if to say "Pat and Vanna are there, you just can't see them". Oh, and LOL at this only being in 480p. Sony trying to save money?
