I finally got my long-awaited e-mail today! I'm going to be attending the February 19 tapings! The theme is "College Road Trip", and it's going to air from March 28 - April 1. This is so exciting! It's only a couple weeks away!

Congrats! Are they asking you to wear a school sweater? If so, definitely go to the school's administration and see if they'll comp you one since you'll basically be giving them free publicity.

The e-mail I got actually said that. I'll look into it - I'm starting to spread the word, but I already told the Associate Dean of my college that I would be on the show at some point!

Let your associate dean know and say that the show is requiring you wear a school sweater and if there is a way you can get one to wear. The administration jumped at providing me one when I went to one of the assistant deans to get the ball rolling (only issue I had was there was a lot of red tape that had to be maneuvered from initial contact to delivery). My experience though was contrary to one of the other contestants that appeared during College Week who said they went to the bookstore as suggested in the email and was offered 20% off; so I advise going straight to the administration rather than the bookstore. They may also want to have a viewing party and do publicity.

He was so adorable at the auditions and I really hoped he was picked.

Wheel appears to be making a slight change to the sixth show tradition starting this season. If a sixth episode is taped after a theme that has certain "criteria" for contestants (teams, college, teens, military, etc.), that episode will have three "normal" predetermined contestants plus one standby. So for example, a taping for a team week might have five teams drawing for shows 1-5 and three single contestants that will compete on show 6. I know that this will be the case for at least one team week this season and College Road Trip. So no more oddball single team episodes, etc.

The Seattle week taping day will have a 6th show as well. I was informed two of the "Seattle" contestants will end up on the generic "America's Game" show, depending on the luck of the draw.

Episodes taped on February 4th were for "Wish You Were Here" week. I am not sure when it is going to air. Saw some pictures on Instagram to verify this.

^ Has to be for the week of February 29, then. The themes of the February 18-19 tapings are already known and the next tapings aren't until after that week is airing.

Are there any Wheel of Fortune eligibility experts out there? I just realized that I might have a problem. I've taken a few college classes with a guy who I believe works for WMBD (the local station that broadcasts Wheel in my area). I'm sure he only has a part-time job there, if anything. Would that cause any problems? I e-mailed one of the Contestant Coordinators, and I'm hoping that I'll be okay as long as I'm upfront about it. My tape date is in a week, and I would be crushed if I couldn't do it!

The specifications of the terms of eligibility generally say "related to" such a person, which I would figure is primarily family ties. Either way, I doubt "having taken a few college classes with" someone is enough of a relationship to count on that regard.
At least that's my take, anyone else who might know more can add to that as they feel necessary.

From the release (As of June 2013)
"I do not know anyone who is now or has been in the past five years an employee, agent, or representative of:
(a) any television station that broadcasts the program;
(b) Sony Pictures Entertainment, CBS Television Distribution, Sullivan Compliance Company or any parent, subsidiary, or affiliate thereof;
(c) Any person, manufacturer, or other firm supplying the prizes to the Program.
If the above is not true, please explain."
Personally, I doubt simply knowing this guy casually as a classmate who may or may not work for the station that airs it will be an issue. I think they'd be more worried if you were drinking buddies or close friends with a person who works for the station that also decides what the programming will be for that station.

Yeah, I know we talked about it but you realllly don't have to worry. There have been people on the show with much closer ties to production.

Hi all! I was at the Jacksonville, FL Wheelmobile event in November, made it on stage, did well on the interview, called a correct letter and solved the puzzle, so i felt confident I would get an audition e-mail. It finally came in January for the Jacksonville auditions on January 28th. I felt good about my game play and my enthusiasm, but after the call back, I felt i fell-down a bit during the "Pat Chat" as I didn't have anything rehearsed and everyone else sounded so polished. I left feeling a bit dejected, but was still hopeful.
My friend who was at the morning session wasn't called back after the test, and he got a letter 15 days after the audition. I was so happy for him! Meanwhile, my mailbox remained empty.
Then last night I checked my e-mail, and it contained the message that not only had I been selected as a contestant, but my taping date has been set! I will be taping on March 3rd. Six shows taping that day, with 5 airing during Big Money Week April 18-22, with the sixth an America's Game show to air on May 31st.
Super excited!!! Booked flights and rooms!!! Problem now is that I have too many family members attending!
Does anyone have any feedback on Big Money Week and what that entails, and what about exceeding the 4 guest limit?
Thanks!!! Kathy
