Congrats Kathy! That is so awesome!
I myself am not sure on what Big Money week is either, but have been curious since I saw the theme announced this year. I've had a few theories since I don't remember ever seeing big money week before...
-The contestants all have to shout "big money!" while spinning the Wheel for the full episode. My favorite theory but highly unlikely.
-There will be a couple of big value wedges on the Wheel at one time (versus the one top value wedge)
-The BR wheel will have double the amount of bigger values than it usually does (maybe 2 $100,000 dollar envelopes?)
I'm curious as well to hear from you all if there's been a week like this before.
If it's Big Money Week, the least they could do is either bring back $65K, $75K, and $85K; or they could put $5,000 in Round 3 and add $2,500 (on top of a blue wedge) and $3,500 (on top of a pink wedge) to go with that in Round 4.

...so long as it doesn't always begin as a Speed-Up.
Recaps will be on hiatus as of May 27, 2024 due to life changes.

Over 2,100 Wheel of Fortune recaps to date, plus over 850 The Price is Right recaps, too!
Guys, remember, this is Sony we're talking about. Season 33 can barely afford having two $900 wedges on the Wheel.
If anything, Big Money Week will have the $65K-$85K in the Bonus Wheel like they did last time they did this theme. But don't get your hopes up. The game stakes will probably remain the same save for money-themed puzzles. I'd love to be wrong, though.
Wheel appears to be making a slight change to the sixth show tradition starting this season. If a sixth episode is taped after a theme that has certain "criteria" for contestants (teams, college, teens, military, etc.), that episode will have three "normal" predetermined contestants plus one standby. So for example, a taping for a team week might have five teams drawing for shows 1-5 and three single contestants that will compete on show 6. I know that this will be the case for at least one team week this season and College Road Trip. So no more oddball single team episodes, etc.
More info on this thanks to Kevin: All four contestants called for show 6 are from the LA area, and they do not know which one will be the alternate until they draw for it. They draw golf balls similar to how everyone else does for shows 1-5, only there are three balls with "6" on them and one with nothing. Whoever draws the blank ball is the alternate.
Oh, boy! The notifications came earlier than I thought. That means the rest of the Denver contestants got it by now, too! So excited for all of you! Hopefully none of you get grouped together.
And if you do, work together to clean the show out.
Seriously, though, great news for all involved.
The Wheel of Fortune History Wiki, created in 2011, is a veritable cornucopia of the show's ups, downs, and all-arounds from its conception in 1973 to the present day, with info and pictures you won't find anywhere else.
Did You Know? - Over 240 BAV members have been winners on Wheel, taking a total of over $8,000,000 out the door. Josh Woo has the stats here.
Gameshow75 I have no doubt you are going to kill it on Denver week! Congrats!!!
I alas did not receive the email last night for Denver week, so while I am certainly more anxious now for a tape date than I was in October, now it's more of an exciting mystery as to what week I will tape and when
Sixth show for Seattle Week was moved from April 15 to May 30. Ouch.
Sheesh! I went to the afternoon Seattle taping the day before my taping and couldn't believe the time gap. I'm guessing it has to do with the promo they ran; there was a big group of Seattle people in the center audience section from the sweepstakes I believe. (Set was beautiful, btw). I know one of the guys that taped 6th (a DJ) really wanted to be on Seattle week. :/
For the first 2 shows, I sat in the house right section behind the contestants and then the big Seattle group left and I moved to the center and sat next to a contestant that just finished taping. He was giving me lots of advice (that I already knew from these boards). There was a malfunction with the buzzers during the first toss up of one of the games, so they threw out the puzzle and just reshot the intro and first toss up (with a different puzzle of course).
Ugh, I need to do a spinning story about everything haha. Such a cool experience, all of it.
Yes! You need to Kevin Any words of wisdom for those of us taping in the next few weeks?? Hope your trip was amazing and the wheel treated you kindly, can't wait to see how you did! Love your upside down avatar by the way
