^ He said "supper club". I have no idea what that meant...
I wouldn't be surprised if this was taped before they changed the music in-studio. It sounded like when the new Toss-Up music was dubbed in since the trailing off of the reveal chimes were abruptly cut off. Hopefully we'll know if Wheel uploads the closing segment, which usually doesn't have the audio track altered.

Also, the toss-up music sounds "harsh and hard", to me. It almost seems too loud.

It sort of reminds me of the switch from the Burbank to Television City version of Changing Keys, the former more orchestrated and melodic, the later more polished with added effects. Unfortunately, the new package just doesn't do too much for me, and I was afraid that Jeopardy! would be getting new cues, but thankfully no changes there. It did catch me by surprise since I didn't visit this section of the board since this thread was created since the show has never had a complete package overhaul mid-season. I predict that this package won't last more than three years.

Jeopardy! changed their board fill sound this season, actually.

Honestly, I think I can deal with it all but that speed-up music has gotta go quick. Just cheesy hookup lounge music.

I only really liked the puzzle solve cue. The Toss-Up tried too much to sound like the previous one. I will miss the Speed-Up music despite the comments about it. And they even changed the Bonus Wheel envelope "ding"!

-Despise the opening theme song. -The Toss Up Solve/Main Puzzle solve should be swapped. -The Speed Up Cue and everything Bonus Round related was good.
The speed up cue does sound like cheap porn music or the elevator music D. Brent Nelson scores for "Days of our Lives." But oddly, I found it intriguing and it feels like it fits.
I just hope they keep the Express Round Music.

^That's hilarious about "Days of our Lives" because I'm a HUGE "Days" fan....been watching since 1995!

My review after mulling it over... (and I really should wait for the whole week to let things settle in, but whatever):
-Intro to show: Meh, bit too jazzy for my liking -Tossup reveal: Meh, bit of a downgrade, bit funky -Puzzle solve: Pretty severe downgrade, just no fanfare to this one like the last one -Speedup cue: really good, much more interesting than the past one -BR: same as the intro to show really. like a bit too hyped up when the BR is supposed to be a calm, serious time and this music doesn't really match that. -BR solve cue: Really good, I asked about a clean rip of the 2002 solve cue in Designer's Den recently and it really sounded like a remix of that from what I caught tonight
Overall it's a mixed bag and I would have rather had a bigger change made at the start of S35, but I'm glad some changes were made finally after a decade, even if it was only due to copyright or whatever.

I like it. I love the jazz feel. Wish the solve cue for toss ups used throughout show.

I feel like shouting out "Bienvenidos a Wheel of Fortune!" whenever the intro plays. The main theme sounds like Mexican Conga music.

Does the beat from the opening remind anyone else of "She Bangs" by Ricky Martin?

^Crap, now I have William Hung stuck in my head!!!
Seriously, the opening reminds me of the "Sex and the City" theme.
But it really does have a Latin flavor to it. I'm not hearing jazz at all like most have said.

The toss-up solve and round solve need to be swapped.

I was just about to point that out. The toss up solve cue is slightly longer and more jazzier sounding than the regular solve cue.

It caught me by surprise that there would even be a new music package, but once I saw last night's episode I thought that this was a throwback to Season 24, the last time that WoF overhauled its music package. The only difference is that in Season 24, only the opening and closing themes, toss-up and puzzle solves debuted at the beginning. Everything else (toss-up bed, speed-up music, and bonus round music) was retained from the 2002 package until midway into the season when they were updated. However, you may remember that the speed-up music that debuted in mid-Season 24 was entirely different from the one we know that debuted in Season 25 and got remixed in Season 28.
Anyways back to topic, It'll take a while to get used to the new music package. But here's my opinion of it.
- Overall, it sounds like they used exactly the same orchestration from the previous music package. So I have a feeling Frankie Blue and John Hoke composed the new music - The opening and closing themes do have a Latin feel while at the same time sound like a completely new version of "Happy Wheels" - Toss-up cue sounds like a cross between the previous one, the one from 2002, and the bonus round cue from the South Park episode where Randy blurts out the n-word - Toss-up and puzzle solves sound entirely different from their previous versions - Final spin cue sounds almost like the previous one but pitched lower - Speed-up music sounds nearly identical to the one used 2000-2007 but somewhat less futuristic sounding and with "wah-wah" guitar chords - Bonus round music sounds cross between the previous one and the one from the 2002 music package - Bonus solve cue sounds like a remixed variant of the 2000 version
So yeah, the new package I think is more interesting than the previous one as some of the cues sound almost similar to the Steve Kaplan music.

I watched yesterday's episode on YouTube and after two seconds of the music playing I was already like what sort of fresh fuckery is this. It was absolutely horrendous and felt like it didn't fit the show AT ALL. I didn't mind the toss-up music too much. The solve cue, like someone said earlier, should've been swapped with the main puzzle solve cue. Toss-ups are quick and the solve cue should match. It shouldn't be an entire fucking bridge. I couldn't make out the main solve cue yet but I know it's quick. HATED the speed-up round. It didn't have any sense of urgency, no build-up, no suspense. It just kept repeating itself every few seconds. Couldn't hear the final spin or any of the bonus segments all that well. They just need to scrap it all and try again. For all those saying that it'll grow on them... don't kid yourself. You hate it and you know it. Rant over, not apologizing for the profanity because it was that bad and that deserved.

I think the main problems I had with the cues (in particular the opening) is that the set is just too dark for what's being played, The music sounds bright and cheery and then you go to a dark "dramatic" set. If the set was a little brighter and had some more color to it besides the borders, I would probably warm up to it a bit more. As it is now, the cues feel out of place, though I enjoy the toss up ones.
Like most of the site, I do agree that the two solve cues should be switched, the lengths feel off on both of them.
