Watching the dubbed rerun now. My affiliate moved it to 2:30 PM Sunday because of an ESPN football simulcast last night. The dubbing really isn't that good; it's really obvious with the different applause sounds crossfading over the new solve cues. On the plus side, since the first Toss-Up was long and took a long time for someone to buzz in (took until the second key change of the previous cue on the original airing), we got a nice long listen of the new Toss-Up cue, plus an extra second because they forgot to dub in the bell sound when someone rang in. I found a copy of the episode's original airing online and I recorded the rerun, so I'm planning to do a comparison video.

I've always thought the speed-up music should start out slow and get faster and more dramatic as the round goes on to build up suspense.

We may have infinite speed music with the REALLY long Speed-Ups that sometime happen.

Here are all the music cue moments from both versions of the 03/03/16 episode. I know it's long, so feel free to skip around. At the very least, go to 2:19 for a long listen of the new Toss-Up music in the clear. I guess that's what happens when you use super-long, cliched themed Toss-Ups. Since they were all added in post, a lot of them are more audible here than this past week. A lot of the redubbing resulted in changes in applause sounds and some minor comments from Pat and the contestants are no longer audible, plus you can still sometimes hear the older cues underneath. Timeline of CuesOpening theme: 1:02 Toss-Up (longest duration): 2:19 Toss-Up solve: 2:39, 3:19, 9:15 Main round solve: 4:03, 5:39, 7:45, 9:36, 12:32 Outro to commercial: 4:09, 5:49, 8:19, 13:15 WOF cookbook ad: 6:24 Hawaii Prize Puzzle copy: 7:55 Final Spin: 9:55 Speed-Up Round: 11:25 Bonus Wheel spin: 15:18 Ding/Cross: 15:30 RSTLNE: 15:37 Contestant's letters: 15:48 Bonus Round timer (first few seconds): 16:20 Bonus Round solve and win music: 16:23 Ending theme (start and end): 17:17

At least the GSN repeats are still intact.

I believe it was added in Season 20, though I may be mistaken.

Now that we've finally heard it, thoughts on the new Express cue? I prefer the previous one. The new one sounds like something from Santana.

^It does sort of sound like something from Santana. All this new music has a very Latin theme to it.
I don't care much for the express music...what little we heard of it. I've always thought it should be "train themed".

I've always thought it should be "train themed". The first one does kind of mimic a train rolling by. This new one sounds similar to the other one, but removes all the dramatic stings that were in it. Not a big fan.

A bit of the ending theme can be heard almost-clearly in this video. Wheel uploaded a longer version on their Facebook a couple of days ago, but they removed it. http://instagram.com/p/BPJFfU8AZT7

I believe it was added in Season 20, though I may be mistaken. Actually, it was Season 18 (2000-2001).

Not quite. Season 20 was when music started playing all the way through the Bonus Round. Season 18 had no music until the timer. Trust me, I have spent way too much time in my life watching old Wheel shows...

Another note about the main theme. I was watching it earlier last week and for some reason I felt like the theme would've been more suited for a Card Sharks revival.

Trust me, I have spent way too much time in my life watching old Wheel shows... This is true. The question seemed a bit unlcear. I was reading it as music for solving the puzzle, not the whole bonus round. My bad.

We finally had a full credit roll tonight. Only John Hoke is credited for the music. Under the previous package, Frankie Blue and Hoke were credited.

The main theme makes me want to watch a 60's TV show like Laugh In or Austin Powers and boogie.

I had a feeling either one of the composers who did the previous package was going to be credited for doing the current one. Anyways, do you remember if Frankie Blue and John Hoke were both credited for the music during Season 24 or was it just Frankie Blue (until the toss-up music, speed-up music, and bonus round music were updated midway through that season)? Or was John Hoke not credited until Season 25?

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Jeopardy has also dubbed the new board sound into their weekend repeats as well.

Interesting. Did they just start doing that for 2017 or has that been done since the start of the season? And do they do it for the "daytime" weekday run, too?
