Okay, time to say it. As awesome as his run is, it's getting annoying to see the Daily Double on the very first clue of the show. I used to find it funny.
I know it's pure luck to uncover them, but still. I'd rather see James at a high score before wagering.

They're putting that Daily Double in the $1000 clue on purpose, I'm sure. As exciting as James' run is, it's certainly not good for the budget... not when they're going through an entire week's worth of winnings in one day...

^ I have an inkling that next season’s clues will be about ten spikes harder.

^^ That, I can see happening. However, have they began season 36 tapings for Jeopardy! yet, or know when they'll start taping? Just curious.

22 days at $1,691,008 so far ($82,381 today). Seems like the placement of the Daily Double didn’t affect that much.
His next game will air on the May 20.

Remember that James didn't find the second DD in DJ!, or he probably would have had a six figure win yesterday

^^ That, I can see happening. However, have they began season 36 tapings for Jeopardy! yet, or know when they'll start taping? Just curious. Usually, next season's tapings begin in July, either before or after the current season finishes airing. Anyways, I don't think they would do another ultimate ToC next season, assuming James' streak will end before the current season ends (he may not surpass Jennings' record of 74 games but he could surpass him or perhaps Brad Rutter in terms of winnings). But imagine the producers doing a special tournament called "The Jeopardy! Holzhauer Challenge". James could be automatically in the finals, while Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter receive first round byes. Jennings and Rutter advance to the finals, where the winner of the tournament receives $500K, 2nd place gets $200K, and 3rd get $100K. Because of how James plays the game (implements the "Forrest Bounce" method), I predict this would be the first time Brad loses to a human opponent, thus ending his undefeated streak.

^ I have an inkling that next season’s clues will be about ten spikes harder. The way to increase his chances of losing is actually to make the clues easier, not harder. He's so good that spiking the difficulty gives him a bigger edge over his opponents while turning it into a buzzer race could lead to his demise.

Holzhauer will return to the show on the 20th as May 6-17 is the annual Teachers' tournament. These shows are the first to air that taped after Alex's cancer diagnosis, but the first show taped after the diagnosis will air on June 3rd. I suspect there'll be a tribute during the teacher's tourney to Larry Martin, last year's teacher's champ who died a few months ago of cancer.

Today's the last day of the Teachers Tournament, so grab your popcorn on Monday because James will continue his streak.

Just in; James has won 23 games and is over $1.7M. And as always he used important dates betting on both daily doubles in the Double Jeopardy! round. The way he plays the game just amazes me. Most other contestants don't implement the Forrest Bounce technique, but instead go from the top of the category down. Heck no one in the Teacher's Tournament used the Forrest Bounce.

and Game Show fans could find irony in his 23-day winnings (hint: 237)

The Teacher's tournament was taped April 1 and 2, and HOlzhauer's first show aired on April 4th. The season finale taped on April 6, and only the first two Holzhauer shows had aired at the time that taped, so none of his record breaking episodes had aired yet.

The season finale taped on April 6, and only the first two Holzhauer shows had aired at the time that taped, so none of his record breaking episodes had aired yet. After watching an interview with Alex, he mentioned that some of the episodes featuring James were taped before his cancer diagnosis, and some were taped after. So I am assuming James' streak will continue at least into next month; when Alex made that announcement back in March, they were taping the episodes that are scheduled to air next week (May 27-31). And just in, he's now won 24 games and over $1.8M. I predict he's going to reach the 2 million mark this week.

Amazingly, May 21st came very close to being a "perfect" show. 58 correct responses (including the 3 Daily Doubles), no incorrect responses, only two stumper clues, and everyone got Final Jeopardy! right.

I doubt it. The J! archive would probably document it under the "Combined Coryat" section if they found such a game.
They did just have consecutive shows with "perfect" first rounds, though, so maybe we'll get there soon. Then again, they might also ruin it with at least one Final Jeopardy! stumper.
