I don’t even know what to say.... He fought a good fight, and it’s been incredible seeing him give all the answers for 37 seasons. May his soul Rest In Peace Side note: as for Jeopardy!, what will they do?

I too didn’t believe this was true at first, but it was until after a bit of research.
Yes, this is sad news, but it’s time to accept the fate.

We've just lost the man who quite literally had all the answers... where do we go from here?

What a weekend. One of the most celebratory days in history, followed by this news.
He was doing so well. It's miraculous he lived as long as he did after a Stage IV diagnosis, and kept a positive outlook the entire way, never skipping work. Alex was a legend and an inspiration. The entire game show industry won't be the same.

I knew it was coming. We already lost Hugh Downs, Regis, and Tom Kennedy, and now we lose Alex, but this case stings me the most. Prayers to his family and friends.

Side note: as for Jeopardy!, what will they do? I think Mike knew that Alex wasn’t gonna last much longer, so he chose Ken Jennings as the consulting producer. That way, Jennings could be the new host if that unfortunate scenario happens. Then again, it’s just a theory.

Each new decade, it get worse for game show announcers and hosts. In 2010, we’ve lost Charlie O’Donnell, now it’s Regis Philbin, Tom Kennedy, and Alex. This is a huge gut puncher. Rest easy Alex.

Alex was a class act and an inspiration to everyone who's in a battle with cancer, especially those with a Stage IV diagnosis. The show's issued a press release about Alex's passing, with messages from Mike Richards and Tony Vinciquerra (Chairman/CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment). First-run episodes with Alex will air through December 25 (his last day in the studio was October 29). Screw cancer.

This is very sad. RIP Alex. You were a great legend and a great game show host.
His last episode on Christmas Day is likely going to be preempted on all ABC stations because of NBA Christmas Day basketball. They plan to start the season December 22 so that means they may have games on Christmas Day. Due to the season being shortened I don't know if they will do their Christmas Day games the same way as they have been or do it different

I kept hoping against all odds that Alex could somehow beat the cancer. I knew it was a longshot, maybe even impossible, but I hoped for it. Sadly it didn't happen. Alex was truly a class act, and I don't think anybody can truly replace him. Yes, Jeopardy will continue with a new host, but it won't be the same. There was just something about Alex that made you care so much for him. Even other game shows he's hosted that I wasn't a fan of, like Concentration, he was easily the best part of the show. Rest in peace, Alex.

I’m not a big Jeopardy fan, but this, to me, is just waaaaay to heartbreaking. SMH
Rest in peace, Alex. You will be remembered as a game show legend after 37 seasons.
Who do you suppose will replace Alex Trebek as host?

Cut the speculation about who replaces. Not remotely the time or place. It’s gross and an awful look for the page.

Alex Trebek was the first game show host I can consciously remember seeing on TV one day, and it was probably Season 10 of the show. (30 minutes later, the second and third ones I can consciously remember.)
I can safely say that J! left a huge impact, and I'll never forget it. Always fun times.
