WEDNESDAY 1/26 (#S-7523) Spoke too soon... Wheel is pre-empted again on WROC tonight, this time for a food charity special.
Tonight's rerun of this episode will once again be pre-empted on WROC Rochester, along with WIVB Buffalo, WTEN Albany, and WIVT Binghamton, by "Destination New York", a Nexstar-produced special showcasing NY travel destinations (besides NYC) that air on all of their NY-based stations at 7:00 PM ET, including ones that don't air Wheel. Traditionally, the special repeats the following Saturday, also usually in the 7:00 slot (although WROC opted to delay the Saturday airing to 7:30 at least once to throw Wheel a bone). This will likely air again at least once more at some point in mid-July. Only makes sense that they would put in the Wheel slot in these cases, given that Wheel is already doing reruns, while Jeopardy is still airing new episodes. Other times during the year it is a choice they make (and at least here with WTEN, they most often just move the show being pre-empted to the Fox station that they also own, overriding their own 7pm newscast, so that makes sense as well).

I know WTEN always moves J! to WXXA when pre-empted, but when Destination NY pre-empts Wheel, don't they usually bump it to 1:06 AM to avoid pre-empting WXXA's news? The only times I've seen them move Wheel to WXXA are when both game shows are pre-empted during the NFL Draft or when they carry hour-long local debates. I know last year, Wheel aired at 1:06 when they aired DNY, and when I asked their programming director why they don't move Wheel to WXXA like they do during the Draft, she didn't reply. 🙄 I'm surprised they did not do it on WPIX, considering that they operate it (WPIX doesn't carry Wheel, WABC does) Actually, it looks like they do. According to Xfinity, the next Destination NY special is Wednesday 7/27, and it is listed to be airing on WPIX at 7:00 PM (pre-empting black-ish), and on Saturday at 4:30 PM (pre-empting an infomercial). The Saturday airing is likely moved early for WPIX because they often locally air Mets games starting at 7 PM, which pre-empts The CW Saturday primetime lineup and delays it to Sunday from 6-8 PM. WABC has no pre-emptions for Wheel coming up, weekday or weekend. The NY Gubernatorial Debates were recently, but WABC was not included in the broadcast rotation this year, only WCBS/WLNY and WNBC.

I have no idea if they did it with this, since there was really no reason to look for it (given that Wheel was a rerun anyway). I was only pointing out that it made sense at this time of year to pre-empt Wheel over Jeopardy given that Wheel is reruns, while Jeopardy is still new, and that they have often moved one (or both) to WXXA when they needed to do so for something else on WTEN. I guess that makes sense (to go later vs. the news), but then again, the news is only a rerun of what was already on WTEN for 2 1/2 hours (4-6:30) anyway, so they could go either way

Does Decatur, IL station WAND have any pre-emptions coming up before Season 40 airs (Not counting the NFL Kickoff)?

^ WAND's site shows no pre-emptions for Wheel for at least the rest of July, but that's as far as the website schedule goes right now. For anything beyond that, you may want to Email the station manager and ask.

If you don't know yet, both J! and tonight's WOF rerun (EP. 106- Bed and Breakfast) will be pre-empted on all FOX stations due to the MLB All-Star Game in Los Angeles.

^ J! is not affected on all FOX stations. WDAF Kansas City and WZTV Nashville both air it before the prime access hour, not paired with Wheel. Also, Wheel's ep is S39 E107; 106 was last night. Rule of thumb, Monday episodes end in 1 or 6, Tuesdays end in 2 or 7, etc. to Fridays ending in 5 or 0.
All-Star Game pregame starts at 6:30 PM ET on the O&O's (none of which carry Wheel) and 7:00 on the non-O&O's.
Scheduling for Wheel appears to be the same as usual. WSYT Syracuse and WLUK Green Bay are both airing Wheel an hour earlier than normal at 6:00 ET and 5:30 CT, respectively. The latter has J! after the game and local news. Most other FOX's are airing Wheel after the game or overnight, but as usual, FOX has the game slotted for three hours and it will 99.9% likely run longer than that, so Wheel may start later than times listed. Since Hawaii is currently six hours behind Eastern Time, Wheel will not be affected on KHON unless the game runs past midnight ET.
Too bad this has to impact a $100K win episode, but at least FOX viewers all saw it the first time, unlike most NBC viewers.

On Thursday, the Big Three networks are all airing coverage of the Capitol Assault Hearings live from 8-10 PM ET/5-7 PM PT. This will pre-empt [Wheel] in most of the Mountain Time Zone and two of the three Arizona markets. This is happening again tonight. Air times for Wheel should be the same as last time, including KNSD and some Pacific NBC affiliates airing Wheel one hour later due to special 7:00 PM newscasts after the hearings. Also, Wheel is pre-empted tonight on at least WGFL Gainesville and possibly some other Florida affiliates, due to tonight’s Florida Primary debate. All listings still have Wheel on WGFL, but an infographic on Twitter listing several stations airing the debate does include it. According to this, Wheel is not affected on at least WBBH Fort Myers (debate is on DT2 H&I) and WTLV Jacksonville (debate will air delayed to 9 PM ET, pre-empting part of the hearings).

It passed 7 PM and the Jeopardy episode didn't air during the "Attack On The Capitol - The Investigation" on KABC.

KGO San Francisco announced on Twitter that Wheel and J! will air "starting at 3:00 AM" Pacific. They didn't specify which show would air first. Either way, DVR'ers would need to record both shows anyway since that hour is listed as Tamron Hall.
The hearings are still going as of 10:45 ET.
This now means this episode of Wheel will have been pre-empted twice on West Coast NBC affiliates. At least this wasn't the case for Mon-Wed of this week.
EDIT: The hearings went until 11 ET/8 PT on all of the Big Three.

KGO did not air Wheel (or J!) despite their announcement, at least not at 3 AM. It was still Tamron Hall.
According to Twitter, KDBC El Paso did not air the hearings, at least not the first hour, allowing Wheel to air.
Wheel also aired as normal on KOMO Seattle, since they opted to delay the hearings to 8 PM PT.

KGO did not air Wheel (or J!) despite their announcement, at least not at 3 AM. It was still Tamron Hall. According to a KGO viewer on JBoard, KGO actually aired the game shows at 9:00 and 9:30 PM Pacific, not sure which order. Wheel generally airs first when the two air in primetime slots, but airs second when it airs at its regular time or when both shows are bumped to 3 AM. According to a KABC viewer, Wheel was not made up at all that night, and neither was J!, despite their usual precedence of giving J! the one-day-delay treatment if there's an unexpected pre-emption.

Another Buffalo Bills pre-emption Monday (#S-7526RR) for WIVB and WROC... I expect there will be several more in August on days on or before Bills preseason games. Tonight's episode will have a SPIN ID, so I hope whoever wins doesn't live in Rochester. Speaking of Upstate New York Nexstar stations... According to Xfinity, the next Destination NY special is Wednesday 7/27, and it is listed to be airing on WPIX at 7:00 PM (pre-empting black-ish), and on Saturday at 4:30 PM (pre-empting an infomercial). It seems this week's airings of Destination NY are exclusive to WPIX. None of the other NY Nexstar stations have it listed this week or the following week. If there is a second week of it this year, it must have either aired already or will be in August.

Was also listed for this past Saturday (7/23) at the same time, but I do not know if it was actually on, as we didn't watch that night (given that another network has Family Feud, figuring it makes sense to watch that as it is also a rerun, but not one that would have been seen before unlike the Wheel/Jeopardy ones).

Tonight’s rerun of CWOF ep #204 with the million dollar win is pre-empted on Detroit affiliate WXYZ for a special on the upcoming Rocket Mortgage Classic PGA golf tournament. It will air at 1:06 AM Eastern.
Yes, primetime, not syndie. WDIV will still air regular Wheel as normal tonight.

Aaaaand WROC puts out its usual "Wheel of Fortune will air overnight" announcement, so yes, there will be more pre-emptions in Upstate New York tonight. Counting CBS network pre-emptions but not counting breaking news, this is now the 18th time this season that WROC has pre-empted Wheel on a weekday. Meanwhile, Jeopardy! has only been pre-empted five times, all of them in conjunction with Wheel. Multiple hour-long Buffalo Bills postseason specials were cut down to half an hour on WROC's simulcast to avoid pre-empting some of Amy Schneider's episodes. These are all the stations that air Destination NY and what program it pre-empts on weekdays. Wheel suffers the most from this, of course. NIELSEN RANK | MARKET | STATION | AFF. | 7:00 PM PROGRAM | 1 | New York | WPIX | CW | black-ish | 53 | Buffalo | WIVB | CBS | Wheel of Fortune | 60 | Albany | WTEN | ABC | Wheel of Fortune | 77 | Rochester | WROC | CBS | Wheel of Fortune | 87 | Syracuse | WSYR | ABC | Entertainment Tonight | 96 | Plattsburgh | WVNY | ABC | Local News | 162 | Binghamton | WIVT | ABC | Wheel of Fortune

Saturday's Wheel is pre-empted on WABC by "On the Red Carpet at CMA Fest" and will air Sunday at 5:00 AM Eastern.
WABC is the only station I've found airing this in the prime access hour. All other ABC's airing this have it in random time slots on Saturday or Sunday, and a couple times on Localish in markets with O&O's.
ABC is also airing a live UFC match from 8-10 ET/5-7 PT. If this runs over, West Coast airings of Wheel may be affected.
