Thanks for the pics. Is it just me, or does the board look bigger? Caught another glimpse of the wheel; they’re most likely using the same colors. If anyone gets tickets to the audiences tapings please share what you see!

Is it just me, or does the board look bigger? Probably an effect caused by the lens. It looked the same size in the other pic.

So, in other words, it'll appear as a flatscreen display but seamlessly divided into 52 rectangles; like the seamless board on "Jeopardy!" from 2006-2009, which was divided into 30 squares. Correct?

So...essentially the board didn't really change?

It does appear that will be the case. The only difference is that the seamless board on Jeopardy! turned out to be a placeholder for the current board, which consists of 36 HD LCD monitors; however, the traveling sets used a seamless board, even prior to the show transitioning to HD.

I can vaguely remember the traveling sets using a seamless flatscreen board during the pre-HD era. I believe that's probably because I've missed out on Jeopardy a LOT during that time due to everything related to my High School days, AND the fact that my local affiliate of KAIT-TV switched Jeopardy! to midnight from late afternoon schedules. Anyway, as the for the seamless board used on Jeopardy during its first three years in Syndication, are you saying the seamless board was removed piece by piece and replaced with the 36 HD LCD monitors? And also with the Wheel of Fortune Puzzle Board, when I was younger, I've always imagined them going direction of a seamless flatscreen display sometime in the future. But now, the question that comes to mind is this: Why haven't they redesigned the board with a seamless screen in the past, at least in the earlier days of HD?

We don’t know what it’s going to be or do. We don’t know why they haven’t done it sooner. There’s two ways to answer the question of how it will work: we wait until next week and see if the two members choose to divulge what they see at tapings or we wait until September when the season starts. Until then, unless Wheel releases any news, we know nothing and everything is pure speculation.
As a reminder, anything that is seen at tapings and shared here needs to have spoiler tags around them.

Have not been to the tapings, but this comes from BuzzerBlog. According to a Discord, the “white things” might not be used. However, like woffan4ever said, this is all pure speculation and we don’t know until it all shows up.

Use the emoticon that looks like it’s going “shhh” to add spoiler tags.

But now, the question that comes to mind is this: Why haven't they redesigned the board with a seamless screen in the past, at least in the earlier days of HD? The set that was in use at the time Jeopardy! began broadcasting in HD wasn't initially designed for that. It was essentially the same one used since November 25, 2002 (my nickname for it is "Ken Jennings set") but with a few upgrades. Before the show switched to HD, the game board was comprised of cathode ray tube monitors. That's why it became seamless board upon the transition to HD. Dollar figure close-ups were still in 4:3, but they had a colored backdrop similar to the title card on both sides. As I stated before, the traveling sets had a seamless board (even well before 2006) but for a different reason; a seamless board is easier to transport than if a board is comprised of those old TV monitors. In 2009, Jeopardy! introduced a high-tech state-of-the-art set when they taped a celebrity match and the Tournament of Champions at that year's CES; the set was later moved into Sony Pictures Studios Stage 10 (now The Alex Trebek Stage) for Season 26. Starting with that set, the game board has been comprised of HD LCD monitors, and still is the case with the current set. In other words, the CES set was the first one to actually be designed specifically for HD. The seamless wall was only removed when they dismantled the Ken Jennings set to make way for the CES set to be built.

Let's not veer the topic of conversation to Jeopardy! and keep this thread focused on its original intention. A separate thread can be created to discuss J! and its sets. Thank you.

Back to topic, someone attended a taping, and confirmed the puzzle board is now one large monitor, not a seamless wall.

Am I the only one who is hoping that Wheel of Fortune would use Neutraface as the font for its graphics?
