Oh absolutely! They'll shoot out every time Vanna walks across. Each time it'll zap her hair. She will be totally bald by the end of the season.

Seeing the letters in a different font is a bit uncanny, but, I’ll just have to wait til September to give my final verdict.

The font is definitely smaller. Looks more like Helvetica Condensed now

To me, it's not so much the font as it looks like the letters are a bit smaller than before when comparing "monitors", or possibly that the letters weren't quite vertically centered until now.
But I think I can adjust to this.

This comment on the Wheel subreddit pretty much sums up my thoughts on the new board:

This comment on the Wheel subreddit pretty much sums up my thoughts on the new board: That’s exactly the point though…the general viewer wants to see something that’s familiar…the show has made the change to more advanced technology and is making the transition seamless…to me that means they did something right!

Maybe so, and we now know that this wasn't just change for the sake of change. The new technology serves a purpose that will greatly benefit the production for years to come.
At the same time, unlocking creativity in this space requires straddling the line between the familiar and something new. This is the biggest technological leap the show has made in 25 years, probably besides the transition to HD. There's nothing wrong with the way that it is, but the new board also handed a silver platter for the producers to mix up the presentation a little bit without straying too far away from the formula. This board which was rumored to have some kind of spectacular reveal is kind of just... there. I guess I'll reserve judgment until I see it on air.

When was it ever rumored that there was going to be a grand reveal? I don't remember that.
I love what they did. What did they need to change? What wasn't working with the board that hasn't worked in 25 1/2 years? It has cut down on production time and cost and allowed for toss-ups to be introduced. It shows the puzzles in a way that's easy to see and read. And on newer televisions, it's probably going to be so crisp and stunning. And we already know that it's going to be used for animated displays for the bonus round prize won among other things. Underwhelming? Far, far from it!

There are ways to alter form without sacrificing function. Sure, the show has had something that has worked for a long time. But the functional equivalent of "copying and pasting" the physical design of the old board to the new one just seems a bit lazy to me. We'll have to agree to disagree here, and it's trivial. We'll both still be watching the show. When was it ever rumored that there was going to be a grand reveal? I don't remember that. This was more of an assumption on my part (admittedly maybe a wrong one) based on how much the show has attempted to keep this under wraps on social media over the last month. I've read that outlets like BuzzerBlog have reached out to Sony for comment to no avail.

Believe me. I can never help but think this very same thing for the Puzzle Board.

Yeah, no. That looks like a Windows 10 blue screen, but they'd be forced to use Windows 11 for it.

I just saw a set of photos over at Instagram of the Celebrity Wheel set which included some shots of both the Puzzle Board and the Wheel, and from the looks of it, nothing on the Wheel has changed. The $950 is still there. So I don't know what that will mean for $850 on the regular version, but the prospect of other values returning seems to be more like a lost cause at this point. We'll see what happens thoe. Maybe they'll add them later in the season; as we know, value changes happening after seasons start have been done before.

^ $850 is still being used on the regular show. And there is one new aesthetic change to the Wheel exclusively for CWOF: The $5,000 wedge is now gold.

I don’t know, but $5K looks much better in gold. 🤩
