CBS Media Ventures is policing early airings again. KFSM Fort Smith was originally planning to air #S-7869 at 12:00 PM CT. Earlier this week, their schedule changed and it is now airing Saturday night at 11:00 PM CT. #S-7870 is not in danger of being JIP'd or skipped on Friday night like on most CBS stations; KFSM is instead filling the 6:30 slot with local news and 7870 will air Saturday afternoon at 12:00 PM CT leading into that day's college football coverage, and this was scheduled from the start since CBSMV has no problem with afternoon airings if it's on a weekend. KFSM has three airings of Wheel of Fortune scheduled for Saturday: #S-7870 at 12:00 PM, #S-7725RR at 6:30 PM (will be JIP'd after the news if football runs over), and #S-7869 at 11:00 PM. Although late, at least the weekday episodes will air in their entirety and on time.

Reminder of airings directly impacted on Thanksgiving: - All East Coast CBS airings - All West Coast NBC airings - All East Coast FOX airings Most Mountain CBS airings will be impacted if CBS's game runs over, since most 6:30 MT airings are on stations that prioritize running 6:00 news or J! in its entirety. The only one that does not is KDBC El Paso. KDVR (FOX) does not either, but Wheel will be impacted if the game runs past 6:30 MT. All CBS Montana stations are pre-empting both J! and Wheel today with late local news and a local special, respectively, and not airing either show at all. Interestingly, on most Central Time Zone NBC affiliates, Wheel is the only syndicated program that is able to air today, while it is the only one not airing tomorrow. I did not find any pre-emptions for today on East Coast NBC affiliates. Three CBS affiliates have Wheel listed in early time slots today, but they will probably get pulled if CBS Media Ventures is watching as closely as they were on Thanksgiving 2020. I won't list them here, but I'll keep watch on all of them. Unrelated to football, one ABC affiliate also has Wheel in an early time slot today due to a local special. This one isn't as early as the CBS's and I don't think it will get pulled, but I'll only mention it if it does happen. Almost all CBS and FOX affiliates are airing tonight's Wheel overnight or not at all, so I won't bother listing those. Confirmed airings of #S-7869 on alternate stations or in odd time slots on Friday or the weekend are as follows: - WRDW Augusta, GA - Moves to WRDW-DT3 (MyTV)
- WBZ Boston, MA - Moves to WSBK (Independent)
- WNEM Bay City, MI - Moves to WNEM-DT2 (MyTV)
- WIVB Buffalo, NY - Moves to WNLO (CW)
- WSYT Syracuse, NY - Moves to WSYT-DT3 (MyTV)
- KTVT Dallas, TX - Moves to KTXA (Independent)
- WDBJ Roanoke, VA - Moves to WZBJ (MyTV)
All of the above sister station moves are also the case for #S-7870 on Friday; on stations that air Wheel at 7:30 (KTVT, WNEM), Wheel will be simulcast on both the CBS and sister stations at that time to ensure the episode airs in its entirety on the latter.
- KFSM Fort Smith, AR - 11:00 PM CT Saturday
- WSWG Albany, GA - 10:00 AM ET Friday
- KVEO-DT2 Harlingen, TX - Delayed to 6:30 PM CT Friday, but won't air in its entirety if college football runs over

I won't list them here, but I'll keep watch on all of them. It turns out one of them isn't supported on Paramount+ and redirects to a larger adjacent market. Out of the other two, one got away with it and is airing Wheel right now. The other one, KNOE in Monroe, Louisiana, replaced Wheel with Investigate.TV. However, Zap2It listed Wheel at both 2:30 PM and 12:37 AM CT, suggesting they already changed their plans a while ago. Their website and TV Passport only listed the 2:30 airing.

Unrelated to football, one ABC affiliate also has Wheel in an early time slot today due to a local special. For the record, this was WTOK in Meridian, Mississippi. They aired Wheel at 5:00 PM CT today due to a special celebrating the station's 70th anniversary.

Today is probably going to be the least-aired episode since Election Day or #S-6480. If you manage to see this episode today in its entirety, congrats on getting a "rare" episode. One NBC affiliate actually already aired this episode at 4:30 AM CT this morning; they did the same for J! yesterday. A few other early airings are scheduled here and there as well, a couple of which are on sister stations. The only markets not directly impacted are Phoenix and Salt Lake City since those are independent stations, and Mountain and Pacific CBS markets, though some Mountain stations might run 5:30 news and/or J! late and JIP Wheel. 7:30 ET airings on CBS (except WBNS) will be okay if their game ends on time, but it probably will not because of postgame. All three contestants are affected, with only one of them (Sonya, via KGO at 10 PM PT) being guaranteed to see the episode at all. WABC doesn't even have Wheel listed for today or the weekend. WJFW in Rhinelander, Wisconsin (NBC) has the 6:00 news and Wheel listed as normal, with the first hour of NBC college football coverage bumped to their COZI TV subchannel. This is only listed as such on Zap2It and not on their website or TV Passport. If this is true, this wouldn't be the first time they've kept Wheel in favor of a sporting event. Confirmed airings of #S-7870 at the regular time on sister stations are as follows: - WXIA Atlanta, GA - Moves to WATL (MyTV)
- WRDW Augusta, GA - Moves to WRDW-DT3 (MyTV)
- WKYT Lexington, KY - Moves to WKYT-DT2 (CW)
- WBZ Boston, MA - Moves to WSBK (Independent)
- WNEM Bay City, MI - Moves to WNEM-DT2 (MyTV); will be JIP'd on WNEM after game
- KETV Omaha, NE - Moves to KETV-DT2 (MeTV)
- WIVB Buffalo, NY - Moves to WNLO (CW)
- WSYT Syracuse, NY - Moves to WSYT-DT3 (MyTV)
- KTVT Dallas, TX - Moves to KTXA (Independent); will be JIP'd on KTVT after game
- WDBJ Roanoke, VA - Moves to WZBJ (MyTV)
Some stations will be airing #S-7870 over the weekend, with at least two of them replacing the Saturday rerun. Regardless, if your station has the rerun listed but not Friday's new episode, check anyway.
- WATM Johnstown, PA - Saturday 4:30 AM ET
- WHIZ Zanesville, OH - Saturday 7:00 AM ET on WHIZ-DT2 (FOX)
- WSWG Albany, GA - Saturday 7:30 AM ET
- WSAZ Huntington, WV - Saturday 8:30 AM ET
- KFSM Fort Smith, AR - Saturday 12:00 PM CT
- WTLV Jacksonville, FL - Saturday 7:00 PM ET (still listed as rerun)
- WCYB Bristol, VA - Saturday 7:00 PM ET (replaces rerun)
- WFTV Orlando, FL - Saturday 11:30 PM ET (after football and news, may slide)
- KATC Lafayette, LA - Saturday 10:35 PM CT (after football and news, may slide)
- WIVT Binghamton, NY - Sunday 2:30 PM ET (immediately follows a soccer game, may be JIP'd)
The following 7:30 ET/6:30 CT airings on CBS affiliates are not moving from said time slot, meaning Wheel likely will not be seen in its entirety, if at all, and is not being re-aired in another time slot or simulcast on a sister station: - WAKA Montgomery, AL
- WTVY Dothan, AL
- WRBL Columbus, GA
- KPTH-DT3 Sioux City, IA
- WMBD Peoria, IL
- KHQA Quincy, IL
- WIBW Topeka, KS
- WBKB Alpena, MI
- WCCO Minneapolis, MN
- KIMT Rochester, MN
- KOAM Joplin, MO
- WXVT Greenwood, MS
- WWNY Watertown, NY
- KTAB Abilene, TX
- KFDM Beaumont, TX
- KHOU Houston, TX
- KLST San Angelo, TX (Aimee's affiliate)
- KENS San Antonio, TX
- KXTS Victoria, TX
- KAUZ Wichita Falls, TX
- WDJT Milwaukee, WI
Canada is not affected by any of this.

CBS went until 7:44 ET. Wheel was JIP'd during R2. KHOU managed to air that round in its entirety even though 7:44 is usually around when R3 would start.
WJFW did indeed air Wheel instead of the beginning of the game.

The only markets not directly impacted are ... Mountain and Pacific CBS markets, though some Mountain stations might run 5:30 news and/or J! late and JIP Wheel. Wheel aired in its entirety on all Mountain and Pacific CBS affiliates. The only ones that ran 5:30 news late were the Montana stations, which JIP'd J! afterwards. NBC and FOX's final games ended on time. ABC overran to 11:33 PM ET. This is going to cut off or skip some West Coast ABC airings, but KABC and KGO should be fine. East Coast airings may be cut off or skipped. Still no clue what WABC is going to do... Also, WILX in Lansing, Michigan (NBC) was one of the few early airings today, at 5:00 PM ET.

Still no clue what WABC is going to do... WABC never updated their listings, not even on their own website. The overnight lineup was listed as the usual: Kelly & Mark/Daytime J!/ABC World News/Tamron Hall/Localish shows The lineup ended up actually being: Kelly & Mark/J! (first-run)/Wheel/Daytime J!/Tamron Hall/Localish shows. The first four shows all slid back about 33 minutes and aired in their entirety. Tamron Hall slid back only half an hour and was JIP'd a little after 4:00 AM following Daytime J!; the first of the two Localish shows was skipped and the second began as scheduled at 4:30 after Tamron finished. Wheel ran on WABC from about 3:04-3:33 AM ET. I recorded the World News Tonight slot with a 30 minute extension and managed to get both J! and Wheel in their entirety in one recording (though it's another half hour of DVR space wasted...).

Some stations will be airing #S-7870 over the weekend, with at least two of them replacing the Saturday rerun. Regardless, if your station has the rerun listed but not Friday's new episode, check anyway. WBBH Fort Myers aired #S-7870 on Saturday. Aside from them, WTLV, and WCYB, all other airings of Wheel on Saturday were the rerun of #S-7725. WABC did not have the rerun listed this weekend, but it did air at 5:00 AM ET Sunday. It was listed as part of "Entertainers with Byron Allen". 7725's original airing was pre-empted on WDAF Kansas City by Chiefs hype, and ended up being pre-empted the second time as well. WTHR Indianapolis aired 7870 on its MeTV subchannel. It wasn't listed, but was announced during their newscast that day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr1kICIScUw#t=1m49s

#S-7872 was pre-empted on WILX in Lansing, MI by a special.
#S-7873 is pre-empted on a few NBC affiliates due to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting, which optionally starts at 7 ET/PT instead of 8. WRDE and WTLV were among the ones who opted for the earlier start, with the latter moving Wheel to WJXX. KNSD, being an O&O, also starts it at 7 and does not air Wheel during this event.

#S-7874 was pre-empted on WPVI Philadelphia by the annual "Philadelphia Celebrates the Holidays" special.
#S-7875 is pre-empted on West Coast ABC's by the Pac-12 Championship Game, scheduled from 8:00-11:30 PM ET. KABC has Wheel at 9:00 PT which means it will be impacted if college football runs more than half an hour over, which it did last Friday.
It may also be pre-empted on WABC. Xfinity has two airings of Wheel listed, at the normal 7:30 PM and 2:35 AM following the encore of Kelly & Mark. This is not the weekend rerun as that is listed Sunday at 5:00 AM. However, WABC's website and TV Passport do not have the overnight airing listed, and fellow East O&O's WPVI, WTVD, and WLS also have only one airing of Wheel at its normal time. In 2020 and 21, all the O&O's aired a holiday shopping special on the first Friday of December, but this did not happen in 2022, and there is no sign of any such special this year that I can find.
I'm hoping this is an error. WABC never does their own half-hour local specials on a weeknight. They always do them Saturdays at 7:00 PM when possible, or Sundays at 5:30 PM during football season.

It may also be pre-empted on WABC. Xfinity has two airings of Wheel listed, at the normal 7:30 PM and 2:35 AM following the encore of Kelly & Mark. This was an error, thankfully. The listing for Wheel was actually Daytime J!; the encore of World News Tonight was skipped since overnights had one less time slot tonight. However, I recorded the Tamron Hall listing and it was still on Kelly & Mark at the start, meaning the game ran well more than 30 minutes over, which would have meant KABC and many other West Coast airings would have only got a partial episode or none at all. Luckily, no contestants were affected since they were all from Eastern and Central markets.

Much of the West Coast will not be seeing #S-7876 in its entirety or at all. MNF has gone into overtime with a review and overran more than half an hour.
Assuming KATU is still (stupidly) sliding back infomercials to take priority over Wheel of Fortune after sports overruns (which they stopped doing for a while after I complained to them, only to resume it a short time later), this affects tonight's red contestant from Portland, and on an episode that likely won't rerun, no less.

Forgot to mention this yesterday. In Canada, #PT-409 was moved back an hour to 9:00 PM ET/PT on CTV affiliates in the Eastern, Central, and Pacific Time Zones, due to a live episode of The Voice at 8:00 ET. In the Atlantic and Mountain Time Zones, Wheel still aired at its normal time of 8:00 AT/MT, with Voice at 9.
Also, next week's #PT-407 will air on CTV 2 on Wednesday 12/13 at 9:00 PM ET, simulcast with ABC. It will not be seen early in the Atlantic Time Zone.

This isn't really relevant to pre-emptions, but it's not worth starting a whole thread over. I wanted to post this on this thread, but it's locked: buyavowel.boards.net/thread/10042/long-weekend-feed-on?page=2 (maybe a mod can move this there?) In Season 40, there were only two markets that were not carrying Wheel of Fortune Weekend (Saturday reruns) at all year-round: Springfield, MA (WWLP) and Harrisonburg, VA (WHSV). In both cases, their expected Saturday slots (both air Wheel weekdays at 7:00) are pre-empted by long-running local shows; WWLP claims their show, "Reel to Real", has been running since even before Wheel offered a weekend run. As of Season 41, that number is now reduced to one. WHSV now carries WOF Weekend; they air it at the expected Saturday at 7:00 PM ET if that time slot is available. When pre-empted by sports, it airs Sundays at 5:30 PM. WHSV's local show, "VA Dreams", now airs at 7:30 instead of 7:00; I can't remember if that show was originally an hour and got reduced to half an hour, or if it was always half an hour and a different local show aired at 7:30. I definitely know WHSV did not carry Jeopardy! Weekend either, and they still don't. Either way, this now means WWLP is the only remaining affiliate that still does not carry Wheel of Fortune Weekend at all (counting affiliates that air it on a sister station such as WXIA/WATL). I know there are at least three that don't carry Jeopardy! Weekend, all of which do carry Wheel: WHSV, WBIR Knoxville (due to long-running local show "Heartland"), WSAZ Huntington, and newest WOF/J! affiliate WHIZ Zanesville, the latter two due to "Ohio Lottery Cash Explosion", which airs on several stations at 7:30 (unless that's a seasonal show?). WDIV Detroit also rarely airs J! Weekend; when they do, it's in a random Sunday afternoon slot as filler when there are little to no NBC sports. Also, speaking of weekend anomalies, WTWO Terre Haute (NBC) swaps WOF and J!'s time slots on Saturdays only. I thought it was a listings error, but I tuned into it a couple weekends ago and it proved to be true. EDIT: Actually, this is probably a better fit for the Saturday reruns thread.

This probably doesn't count as a preemption, but, Tegna and DirecTV are in a dispute, thus knocking Tegna-owned stations off the air. This also affects DirecTV Stream as well. Idk how many Tegna-owned stations air Wheel and Jeopardy!, but I know KFSM Fort Smith is one such station. Thank god we have YouTube TV, so I am not affected by this, but other people may be. This will also affect showings of Celebrity Wheel and Jeopardy! on Tegna-owned ABC stations, two such stations being WQAD in Moline, Illinois, and WFAA in Dallas, Texas.

They do make external DVR's, but idk if those would work with antenna TV.

^ They do. There are some companies, such as MediaSonic, that make DVR's that you can connect to an antenna. Once it finds your stations, you can program it to record a specific station at a specific time just once, every single day, or once a week. You have to plug in an external USB flash drive or hard drive and the recordings are saved digitally on there, so you can play them back either on the device itself or plug it into your computer. I used to use one to record Wheel (all airings, new and reruns, of both the syndie and primetime versions) off WTNH since my indoor antenna picked it up fairly well at my office; my home is too far from both WABC and WTNH's transmitters to pick up either. I don't work at that place anymore, so right now the antenna and DVR are sitting under my bed collecting dust until I move somewhere with decent reception. This is the one I've used. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I2ZBD1U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1And here's what my recording queue looked like in January 2022. The 7:30-7:33 AM daily recordings were just a "buffer" to keep the box warm because I found that it would sometimes not record if it had gone too long without doing so. The weekly 7:59-9:00 recordings were for CWOF since this was back when it aired Sunday nights at 8:00. The single recording for 1:29-1:58 was for the weekend rerun which WTNH moved to 1:30 PM Saturday afternoon that weekend.
