^ They do. There are some companies, such as MediaSonic, that make DVR's that you can connect to an antenna. Once it finds your stations, you can program it to record a specific station at a specific time just once, every single day, or once a week. You have to plug in an external USB flash drive or hard drive and the recordings are saved digitally on there, so you can play them back either on the device itself or plug it into your computer. I used to use one to record Wheel (all airings, new and reruns, of both the syndie and primetime versions) off WTNH since my indoor antenna picked it up fairly well at my office; my home is too far from both WABC and WTNH's transmitters to pick up either. I don't work at that place anymore, so right now the antenna and DVR are sitting under my bed collecting dust until I move somewhere with decent reception. The 7:30-7:33 AM daily recordings were just a "buffer" to keep the box warm because I found that it would sometimes not record if it had gone too long without doing so. The weekly 7:59-9:00 recordings were for CWOF since this was back when it aired Sunday nights at 8:00. The single recording for 1:29-1:58 was for the weekend rerun which WTNH moved to 1:30 PM Saturday afternoon that weekend.  Jesus! That's a lot of episodes, lol. At least you can take the recordings and upload them if so desired. |

Tonight's MNF pregame pre-emption affected contestant Chaun, who's from the Chicago area. However, per her Instagram, she was able to access a feed of WPLG Miami, which airs Wheel at 7:00 and keeps it that way when MNF starts at 7:30, much like WJLA, whose area also had a contestant tonight.

#S-7891 is pre-empted on all ABC affiliates and East Coast FOX affiliates.
It is also pre-empted on CJON AKA NTV, which is where the YouTube copies come from, so you won't be able to watch Wheel early today. NTV pre-empts all of its American programming (except for The Young and the Restless) on Christmas Eve and Day by various Christmas specials and movies. Those two days and Super Bowl Sunday (which only impacts the weekend rerun) are the only times per year NTV pre-empts Wheel.
WABC has Wheel slotted at 3:35 AM ET. This is the last program of the overnight lineup before America This Morning begins and there is no Tamron Hall encore tonight. Judging by how they handle overnight airings of Wheel and Tamron when Wheel is in an earlier overnight slot, there is a chance Wheel will not air in its entirety if MNF runs over in order for America This Morning to start on time. MNF is slotted until 11:30 PM tonight instead of 11:15.

MNF overran about 15 minutes. Fortunately, WABC did not slide the game shows this time, so Wheel aired in its entirety and on time.
The overrun may have affected David's affiliate KYUR, as they had J! and Wheel scheduled immediately after the game, so Wheel may have been cut off if they're one of those stations that runs J! in full after sports but cuts off or skips Wheel.
Brandon's affiliate WBRZ didn't appear to air his episode at all, unless they moved it to their subchannel like they did during the season premiere.

Another FOX pre-emption for most. The DirecTV Holiday Bowl starts pregame at 7:30 ET, impacting #S-7893.
Also, expect several more pre-emptions on WIVB, WROC, and possibly WETM since the Bills are in the playoffs. Titans are out and WKRN has Wheel back on the Tuesday schedule starting January 9.

Because a local contestant was affected, WBRZ Baton Rouge will air #S-7891 (Monday's episode) on Sunday at 10:00 AM Central, in place of In Touch With Dr. Charles Stanley. The weekend rerun of Wheel will air later that same day at 4:30 PM.

Last night's rerun of #PT-407 was pre-empted on WEWS Cleveland due to the Browns in TNF; they ran coverage from 7 PM-12 AM ET with CWOF at 1:07 AM, followed by the other pre-empted game shows. Syndicated Wheel was not affected on WOIO.
Tomorrow's rerun of #S-7698 is pre-empted on FOX by college basketball and most ABC's by NFL (branded with the MNF moniker) starting at 7:30 ET. WABC has Wheel at 5:00 AM ET Saturday morning. WRIC Richmond does not appear to be replacing Wheel with J! like they do on weekdays, but WPBF West Palm Beach is, with Wheel at 1:00 PM Sunday. WTNH also has it at that time. KATV Little Rock, Maggie's affiliate, has it at 12:20 AM CT (will likely be later than that) but if she were to drive about an hour east down I-40, she'd be in the Memphis market where WMC will air it at the regular time.

There are no Monday Night Football games on ABC in January except for January 15. Wheel is back to its normal time on the West Coast on Mondays starting this week. However, Wednesday episodes in January will be pre-empted by NBA, scheduled from 8-11 ET.

Yet another sports deal that means trouble for Wheel. www.wlox.com/2023/12/31/wlox-gray-tv-stations-reach-agreement-televise-10-pelicans-games/Gray Television has partnered with the New Orleans Pelicans to air all of their games on several of their stations in and around Louisiana. The following stations that air Wheel are potentially affected by this: - WVUE New Orleans, LA (FOX)
- KNOE Monroe, LA (CBS)
- KALB Alexandria, LA (NBC)
- WDAM Hattiesburg, MS (NBC)
- WTOK Meridian, MS (ABC)
- WALA Mobile, AL (FOX)
WLOX Biloxi, which also airs Wheel, stated that the games will air on their Bounce TV subchannel and not on their main station, so there is a chance some of these other stations may opt for that approach as well, especially since the games would impact network primetime programming in most cases. None of the above stations have the January 12 game listed on their schedule. Assuming the game times listed in WLOX's article are in Central Time, the following games will conflict with Wheel: - Fri, January 19 (#S-7910) [if there's pregame]
- Tue, February 27 (#S-7937)
- Fri, March 1 (#S-7940) [if there's pregame]
- Tue, March 26 (#S-7957) [if there's pregame]
The last of the 10 games' date is TBD. The Pelicans are reportedly also working with other non-Gray stations in the area for a similar deal.

Saturday Wheel returns to the normal time on most ABC affiliates starting this Saturday. However, WABC has both Wheel and J! pre-empted with infomercials, with Wheel on Saturday morning at 5:00 AM ET. Wheel is listed at the normal time for January 20 so far.
As mentioned before, NBC is pre-empted for NFL this Saturday on the East Coast. FOX has been pre-empting 7:30 ET onwards for basketball with pregame, but with most affiliates moving Wheel earlier (WDAF usually moves Wheel to 3:30 PM CT).

#S-7758 on January 13, 2023 will not be shown on NBC stations due to an NFL Playoff game. NBC stations had the option to not carry the NFL Wild Card Special at 8:00 PM ET after the game on Saturday. Some stations aired local programs or newscasts. KSDK St. Louis actually aired Wheel in this slot (7:00 CT), though it wouldn't have been in its entirety if the game ran over. |

Monday's going to be ugly. Yet another episode this season that won't be seen in more than half the country.
We already knew from September that #S-7906 would be pre-empted on ABC (except most 7:00 ET airings) by the final MNF game of the season. Last Saturday, the NFL decided to postpone the Bills' Sunday playoff game to Monday due to bad weather in Buffalo. CBS will be covering this game today from 3:30-8:00 ET, impacting at least East Coast airings of Wheel, with less than a business day's notice for the affiliates to reschedule the show, so most CBS's likely won't have Wheel listed in guides even if they do move it. And of course, if this game runs over, that will impact most Mountain Time Zone airings as well.
FOX also has a lot of sports today, with college basketball and PBA Bowling from 11:30 AM-7:00 PM ET, followed by the Emmys live at 8:00. The 7-8 hour is open to the affiliates, but Wheel would be in trouble for some (WSYT, WXIX, possibly WDAF and WBFF if they prioritize a full newscast/J! which they have before) if PBA Bowling runs over. The Emmys will be live in all time zones, which pre-empts Wheel on KDVR (moving it to KWGN) and it will also impact Wheel on KHON if it runs over and causes the 6:00 news to start late. Thankfully, there is no red carpet preshow or anything like that at 7:30 ET.
NBC is the only network that will air #S-7906 in all time zones.

^ It will most likely air in the slot listed as ABC World News Tonight, as the rest of them have.
WABC has been terrible this season about updating their listings. They're never pushed to guides until the week of. This is most obvious with the weekend reruns, where they're always initially listed by default for Sunday at 5:00 AM during football season or Saturday at 7:30 PM otherwise. If Wheel does not ultimately air in either of those two slots for that weekend, it doesn't change in the listings until around the Wednesday prior. Case in point, last week the January 20 rerun was listed at 7:30, now it's not listed at all because ABC added an NFL game that day, but it will probably pop up in the listings later this week in whatever other slot it gets.
