I could only imagine where the Express would go. There wouldn't be a single place to put it without consecutive cardboard spaces, unless you put it on $650... Yes, but then you have consecutive special spaces and that doesn't look good either. Why the fuck are they always inconsistent with their stuff? They should not be insisting on "testing" new round configurations with actual shows, it's not a test then, you're being unfair to contestants! Simulate the stuff instead! This is the same braintrust that upped the house minimum to $2,000 for Military Spouses Week but dropped it back to $1,000 for the sixth show of that taping, which actually affected the outcome of said game. Honestly, Wayo, this shouldn't surprise you.

I guess it shouldn't, given the 1/2 Car had some experimenting too. This just feels really bad though.
Oh well, it might ironically keep some parts of the season fresh...

I'm still confused...
So 2/13 went... R1: Normal R2: Mystery & Express (can't be, that's two $1000s next to each other) R3: PP
(in our PM, Rory, you said "Normal/Mystery/Express&PP" sounded right)
And 2/14, I believe we already established... R1: Mystery R2: Express & PP R3: Normal

Two gimmicks in Round 2 on 2/14 because it's Valentine's Day Week and hence two-player teams?
Wouldn't be surprising given Celebrating 30 back in May.

That is WAY more of a stretch than the 30-related stuff...

Why can't you people just wait for the season to premier to fine out what is changing? It's like all you want to do is get to the bottom of things of what is changing for the new before it even premiers. Like if the Prize Puzzle started offering more then just trips you people would want to know what it is. You need to wait in life and not go 200 mph.

Basically, some people (contestants, audience members, etc.) will already know about the changes before the season premiere. More importantly, though, we strive to be a top source for everything Wheel; not to mention that breaking Wheel news boosts our site reputation. Just like how we were the first to break the news about the Express wedge.

Some other tidbits Rory discussed with me (that I can share)... - "Taste of the Good Life" is a food-themed week, so probably no "Fabulous Food" week this season. It also uses mostly pre-recorded closings. - Currently, show staff does not yet know how, or if, they will celebrate the 6,000th show. - No signs of another road trip for Season 31, but Wheel has been invited back to the Venetian and Palazzo, so they may be going back for Season 32. - Same Name is still inconsistent with &/AND, as one of the puzzles during "Taste of the Good Life" week spells the word out, as well as a puzzle during "Season Premiere" week. Rory told me the answer to the "&" one (even though I told him not to ) and the "uncommon words" are both lengthy, much like the two Same Names in S30 that used &. To see what it looks like in blank form, show the "Spoiler" below if you wish (I won't tell anyone the answer, not that anyone could no-letter it anyway ). There's still no "pattern" to this, though, as "AND" easily fits on the second row, and puzzles have been done like that before (ENGAGEMENT / AND WRESTLING / RING and even LEMON / MERINGUE AND / SWEETIE / PIE, both appearing last February), so it doesn't appear to have anything to do with length or puzzle formation deciding with version of "and" gets used.

Why can't you people just wait for the season to premier to fine out what is changing? Because most people don't look all over the internet for photos and news regarding the new season. Sure, we'll have to wait for the new season before some things can be confirmed, but I think you've missed the point of topics like this. It's like all you want to do is get to the bottom of things of what is changing for the new before it even premiers. We did the same thing for Season 30. It provides healthy discussion to speculate and try to figure stuff out based on photos and info from audience members and/or contestants. (It also provides more site traffic and activity during the Summer, whereas not much of anything would be going on otherwise.) You need to wait in life and not go 200 mph. Good advice on a lot of things, but not really relevant to this. We're not saying "Tell us everything NOW NOW NOW" like you seem to be implying- *Wheel of Morality prints out something*Interesting. Didn't even spin it this time. *tears off paper*"Don't feed the troll." Good advice on a lot of things, but not really relevant to this.

Basically, some people (contestants, audience members, etc.) will already know about the changes before the season premiere. More importantly, though, we strive to be a top source for everything Wheel; not to mention that breaking Wheel news boosts our site reputation. Just like how we were the first to break the news about the Express wedge. On top of that, this is Wheel of Fortune we're talking about. This is the same show that didn't try in the least to keep a Million Dollar Win under wraps ( twice!). This is also the same show that releases weekly promos that offer up tons of spoilers. They'll release images before the season premiere and let's not go down the path of the tons of behind-the-scenes photos posted on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by show staff and contestants alike. Once a toe has been dipped into the well of temptation, it's hard not to jump in. Well, here we have a case of an entire leg being dipped into the well. They want us to know about this stuff before it airs and watch because of it. But that's enough of going off topic. On Topic: I'll guess that they switched the format for one show just "because" and to try it out. It'll probably just be a one episode thing (unless they've had other episodes that have flipped the Express around) that will go unmentioned by the show, but serve as noteworthy fodder for the Wiki. I could've sworn there was a point when Mystery and PP flipped around a bit in the middle of a season. Or was I just dreaming?

They want us to know about this stuff before it airs and watch because of it. On top of that, the show knows about us through various means, and Part 4 of 21 Questions with Pat and Vanna uses two questions submitted by BAV's Twitter account. I could've sworn there was a point when Mystery and PP flipped around a bit in the middle of a season. Or was I just dreaming? Not dreaming -- Season 29 moved the Mystery Wedges from Round 3 to Round 2 and permanently locked the Trip Puzzle in Round 3 (as opposed to being in Round 2 or 3) about a month or so into taping.

Very well said by Ryan, Dan, and JJ. All the stuff revealed can generate good discussion and speculation (when it's rational, anyway. ). (Hi, Amber.) [Inside joke. Don't mind it.]And JJ, the first six taping days of S29 used the same round structure in S28: Jackpot/Normal/Mystery, with PP randomized to R2 or R3, but then was changed to Jackpot/Mystery/PP, and since they tape weeks out of order and "sixth shows", the first episodes with the latter structure aired in October 2011, though episodes with the previous structure aired sporadically as late as January 2012. (see here)

For those who think Harry Friedman loves to save money every way he can, you're going to like it. "Ok, we need to shave a couple thousand dollars off the budget. Exactly how much electricity is required to make sure the Bonus Wheel shows up on camera, but no more than that. That much? Can you lower it a little more? Ok, good. Oh, and just so viewers at home know exactly which wedge was chosen, make sure that each wedge lights up gradually in a sky blue color after the contestant picks up the envelope, but as soon as we cut to Sajak taking the envelope and the contestant's hand (it doesn't matter which sex they are this season), turn off the lighting in the wheel. Good meeting, good meeting. Now, about the craft services budget.... Hey, where are you all going? Oh come on! Vanna doesn't even eat that much!"

You know, I didn't think the Bonus Wheel could get any darker or less visible. I hope it's only for the Vegas shows. Ok, good. Oh, and just so viewers at home know exactly which wedge was chosen, make sure that each wedge lights up gradually in a sky blue color after the contestant picks up the envelope , but as soon as we cut to Sajak taking the envelope and the contestant's hand (it doesn't matter which sex they are this season), turn off the lighting in the wheel. Good meeting, good meeting. Now, about the craft services budget.... Hey, where are you all going? Oh come on! Vanna doesn't even eat that much!" Just for the general record, the bolded portions weren't originally there.
