So, it's basically just like the other pressman ones except with the graphics and tokens somewhat re-skinned? Great... I'll probably only get it for the updated puzzles. Although I might be able to skip that entirely and just make my own puzzles with the letter cards from "probe" now that I think of it.

Hey, my friend Neil got the game today and I think you're gonna like what the wheel looks like...

Yay! So how does Free Play work, then? Does it still have tokens? And odd that they put $3500 on the Wheel instead of the usual $5000; even $2500 would have made more sense. I doubt the game comes with add-on wedges.

Ok, that's a good looking wheel! Now I'm actually curious to see how the Deluxe Edition could go down.

It still amazes me that they use that dark green Free Play when the actual one is nothing like that.

My local Kmart still only has the 3rd edition.

If a deluxe version is developed, it better have add on spaces. Not just the other big money values, but I'd like to see the Mystery wedges and Express as well.

That'd be awesome if they could do that, and improve the design of the wheel a bit so it spins kinda like on the show (rather than the really fast spin it usually has.) Germanname, you have a bunch of wheel editions, right? If they were to improve the Deluxe Wheel to make it spin better, which wheel do you think they'd make it like? My first guess would be either like Parker Bros. or the modern French Wheel.

^ To answer your question, wheelman97 , I'd actually stylize the Wheel used in the 2008 Disney Edition if I was the lead designer at Pressman. Instead of having those prongs in the center of each add-on wedge, I'd put them at the top and bottom. As for what I'm expecting when it comes to addons, I'd expect $2500 (in sapphire instead of lavender) and $5000 (in silver instead of white and with black numbers instead of red) for two. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wild Card, Mystery Wedges and the Express make it. In fact, I think the Express would be perfect for a board game adaption of Wheel. I don't want to be too expectant of Prizes, Gift Tags and 1/2 Car Tags in spite of all those $500 spaces. I don't expect a yellow $900 for Round 3. What I'd really be surprised over would be if the Million Dollar Wedge made it especially considering Pressman never had a Bonus Round as part of its official rules. Besides, they'd have to make a second Wheel for Bonus Rounds (and perhaps a third for Million-Dollar Bonus Rounds) that may have to conceal the Bonus Round amounts. Getting back to the 4th Edition, Pressman has always stated in their prior editions that the player loses the following turn when a player lands on Lose A Turn (I don't know if they will here), and I think I know where they're coming from. I admit I've become less satisfied with Lose A Turn being called such. I personally felt "Lose Turn" (like Sharedata and GameTek originally named it), "Lose Your Turn," or maybe even "End Turn" (like in the PC game Lexi-Cross) or would've been better candidates for a name, and here's why. What do the show mean by a turn exactly? The turn you have already have? A following turn? Your opponent's turn? A turn that takes place the following round? Which turn would it be? At the same time, why would Pressman state you "lose the following turn" as part of the rules when in fact that such a thing has never happened on the show? Now one more thing, and it regards MarioGS ' question about Free Play. I'm most expecting the rules to be the exact same as the original Free Spin space. I'm still expecting Free Play tokens to be included here. I remember Pressman changed the design of the Free Spin tokens for the Simpsons and Disney edition, and based on that, I believe that's simply what they're going to do here (just a redesign), especially considering that the show's rules of Free Play may seem a little complex to put into an instruction booklet and may be difficult to understand for those who don't follow the show as much as others do. For us, however, the nice thing is that we know the rules of Free Play and that we also know that not all the rules provided in the instruction booklets of some board games necessarily have to be followed. Besides, a ton of rules have changed numerous times in the history of Wheel. If Pressman does include Free Play tokens, we don't have to use them. If we do, we can certainly use them as Free Spin tokens or in the style those Free Play "tokens" used on that one Facebook game, meaning before spinning the Wheel, we can use them if we're not sure of a specific letter or of the puzzle's solution. Free Play's rules can still apply. For me personally, however, these Free Play tokens would make a nice addition to my very unique Wheel of Fortune collection along with the spinner card. They are the two big reasons why I'm looking forward to getting this game. In fact, I may even want to get two copies.

Loving the wheel! I think decreasing top value makes the game a closer fight but I would've liked a 2500 space.
Hopefully they make a new deluxe version soon...I wanna play with the Express, Million Dollar Wedge and Mystery wedges!

A review from neilrocks87. Free Play works like Free Spin in the previous games, and the print on the puzzle cards are a bit out of alignment with the board frame.

It's disappointing to know that the puzzle cards have not been printed properly. So that will certainly be a big detriment to gameplay, but I'll see if they can work on the Disney Edition puzzle board since the board is styled differently.
As for Free Play, I figured I'd be right. Anyway, I just bought the game for $37 off of Ebay.

That's a pretty solid review and comparison right there. Ifor I ever get the 4th edition I'll have to see if my copy has the alignment issues or not.

Looks like the folks at Pressman have finally gotten the message since my illustration of what the spinner's layout should've been like in the past 5 years or so. Well, lemme put it this way. Since the "Free Play" wedge came along.

They should've just waited another year to get ALL the kinks worked out and then they could've advertised it as the 35th anniversary edition. Bad planning on Pressman's part.

I kind of hope that another company acquires the home game rights so we can just get a new setup. Like, a larger Wheel with add-on wedges that spins smoothly like the Irwin Toy game, a board with four rows for bigger puzzles with individual letter cutouts instead of puzzle cards like the Milton Bradley game, Toss-Up buzzers, a scorekeeping pad or Electric Jeopardy!-like scoreboards instead of paper money, and most importantly, a Bonus Round.

That might be good too. Especially the puzzle board and having a smooth spinning wheel. Although instead of having just add ons, maybe they could do interchangeable layouts.

Interchangeable layouts would probably be more expensive and make the box more cluttered. It's not necessary since only the top values, Express, and the yellow wedge next to it change between rounds. The can easily make the bare layout magnetic and make all the necessary add-ons as fitting wedge-shaped magnets, like this, although I would hope they would use a more traditional-looking Wheel rather than a spinner: This is from a kit called "Spintastik" that's meant for making a wheel of chores or rewards with their included wedges. Underneath is a blank colored layout, which is magnetic and dry-erase. I had it when I was younger. I bought it at a Discovery Channel Store about a decade ago. I doubt it's still in production.
