As for keeping score, the paper money makes it easy for kids, but it really slows the game down and it's much easier to just keep track of the scores with a pad an pen. Endless Games' WOF card game had a dry-erase score card where you would make a tally mark for each letter called on the appropriate wedge and for each vowel purchase, but this method of scorekeeping was kind of odd. What if WOF board games had a pad of score cards like Scrabble or Yahtzee? In action... (EDIT: Added category and Used Letter Board) Granted, you do need good mental math skills, but you can always use the lines to write for example "$650 x 3", "-250", "BANKRUPT", etc. and then add it all up after the round.

^I just use 3 calculators to keep up with the current round scores then add the totals up from round to round and write them down.

I have to agree with you, Mario, magnets would be a good idea, they'd just have to be of decent strength to withstand a load of spinning. I have a chess set that has magnets so strong that you can flip the set without the pieces falling. A scorecard is also a really interesting idea as well, and it'd definitely be faster than using play money in a lot of instances. By the way, how's Luigi?

I was considering the score podiums seen in Electric Jeopardy! but there'd have to be a second podium for each player for totals. Your solution here, MarioGS is fantastic, but can someone please find a way to make this dry-erase to save the trees?

How do the podiums from the Jeopardy! game work?

Like this. The game's box shows all five digits having reels, but it's actually just the first three, so no strategic -99 or -01 Final Jeopardy! wagers here. Earlier models of Classroom Jeopardy! and Host Your Own Jeopardy! also did not allow for DD or FJ! wagers not ending in -00, but later models do.

^For some reason I was thinking they were digital.

Only the buzz-in devices were electric, but that would've been cool (yet expensive, especially for 1987 standards) to have the displays digital. I wonder if Pressman would make similar buzzers for Toss-Ups for their next Deluxe Edition. Even if they don't, at least we can still use the Electric Jeopardy! buzzers. I also have the ESPN Jeopardy! game from 2008 which has a nice four-button buzz-in system, but you'd have to huddle around it.
Anyway, I just got the 4th Edition board game in the mail today, but I still got a couple long, cold days of work ahead of me. Hopefully by Thursday, I'll start using it a bit.

By the way, I kept forgetting to mention here that I was wrong about this being $3500's board game debut. I already put this info up at the Wiki, but anyway, it was actually the 2008 card game which I do own. In fact, here's a July 2008 photo I took of it shortly after getting it. $3500 can be seen near the bottom center. If the mods are interested in having this photo up at the Wiki, I'll be more than happy to put it up.
Pressman's 4th Edition is still $650's board game debut, and I keep thinking about how good of a way to have it be its first appearance in a board game adaption - by having three spaces with that value!

What are the puzzle categories in this edition? Curious if Same Letter is used or if some are used that may be retired like Classic TV or Husband & Wife.

I kind of hope that another company acquires the home game rights so we can just get a new setup. Like, a larger Wheel with add-on wedges that spins smoothly like the Irwin Toy game, a board with four rows for bigger puzzles with individual letter cutouts instead of puzzle cards like the Milton Bradley game, Toss-Up buzzers, a scorekeeping pad or Electric Jeopardy!-like scoreboards instead of paper money, and most importantly, a Bonus Round. If they did this then the game would really be worth $37. What it currently is is worth $20, maybe $25 max.

Cost is an issue, no question. Anyway, I did a nice little video of my copy of the game, showing what could a possible solution to the misalignment of the letters. Will the solution work? Watch and find out. My Wheel model and my gaming systems precede that. The segment for the board game starts at 7:00.
