I'm not kidding when I say Jim Pressman himself is saying that a 4th Edition has been announced at long last, and not the one from 1988. If you don't believe me, watch this video. Pressman discusses Wheel at 4:56, at about 5:53, he starts discussing the 4th edition. Hopefully, the Season 32 layout will be used. If so, that means blue $550 as well as Free Play and $650 officially being used for the first time in a board game adaption of Wheel. Still, I'm worried that they won't change a thing except the puzzles.

Here's what I'm hoping for: Wheel reminiscent of the 80s deluxe version with snap-on wedges Inclusion of Free Play, Mystery Round, and Million dollar wedge Customizable wheels (somehow it's got to be possible in this day in age, printing out a customized wheel) Some sort of bonus round.
I won't hold my breath.
Also of note: the board game version in the video is the 20th anniversary version, but they put the 3rd edition box with it.

Customizable Wheels, Jake? Not only is it possible to print out a customizable Wheel in this day and age, but did you know that I like making custom Wheel layouts to be used on Pressman's Deluxe games? I have a bunch in my DeviantArt gallery already. If you want, I'll show you some of them.
In fact, my custom Wheel layouts are actually why I said "officially" when mentioning $650 and Free Play; they're just two of the many values I have been including in some of those layouts.

I say there's a good chance of either of these two outcomes:
1. The "4th edition" is nothing more than a repackaged third edition still with the same spinner card based on the 1999 layout and Free Spin, literally the only difference being that the box has the Season 31 or 32 logo (the 3rd edition had the then-current S26 logo complete with the MDW visible) 2. The spinner card is finally updated to use the current font and either the Season 31 or 32 layout with Free Play, but still just a base layout with $5000 and no extras.
I really doubt it'll be a major overhaul, but it'd be nice to see interchangeable top dollar values and extra wedges. It'd actually be very feasible if the spinner card was magnetic. The wedges could be wedge-shaped magnets with graphics printed on them and they'd be thin enough not to interfere with the spinner arrow. I had a game that did something like this when I was younger that was meant for making "chore wheels" and such.
If a Deluxe Edition is made, I hope the Wheel is more like the one in the Disney Edition. It was a major improvement over the previous ones. It spun much better and I liked how the add-on wedges went inside little holes above and below the base wedges instead of openings between each wedge.
A Bonus Round would be great to finally see, too. When I was a kid, I would just play a Bonus Round out of any given puzzle and I made five "envelopes" out of paper.

Mario, that's how I made the Bonus Envelopes too. I also agree with everything else you said.
BTW, did you ever see how France made their 2008 board game? I made a 2-part review for those who want to see it in action.

I did see that. Very cool Wheel structure except for the lack of add-on wedges and the board being only two rows.
That game's Wheels remind me of how I used to make Wheels out of two paper plates with a similar structure. I'd cut out the center of one plate, draw a layout on it, turn the other plate upside down, draw pointers on it, and stick a thumbtack through the layout and the base plate. It spun very well as long as you didn't put too much pressure on the layout, or it would become lopsided.

I contacted Pressman asking about when it would be out. Expect to see it this summer.

Why do I get the impression that there's more to what they're doing than coming up with 96 puzzles or whatever it is?

Well, it's not even three weeks from now. Hopefully the product development team surprises all of us nicely, but let's see what happens.
As for Scopely's game, gosh, I was hoping we'd all be enjoying it long before Pressman's game, but with each day passing, the prospects of Scopely even releasing it seem to be growing slimmer.

Listen, when the game releases, can someone buy the game that day and post some pics? I ask for 2 reasons: 1, my mom won't buy the game for me (I already asked), and 2, I want to see what everything looks like. Hopefully they changed the wheel layout to reflect the color and value changes and the Free Play wedge.

I'll look around for it on August 4th and I'll definitely take pictures of the box if I see it. I'll really only buy it if the Wheel is updated at the very least.
I would've thought we'd see an Amazon listing or something by now, though.

Well, tomorrow's supposed to be the big day. Keep your eyes peeled. I still have yet to see any listing for the game on any retail site.

It's midnight so it's technically August 4th and as far as I can see no Amazon listing I could blame just one site but it's the whole internet so I blame Al Gore Anyway I'm just gonna wait for the deluxe edition because one requirement I have with these games is that the wheel has to be a real spinning one and not just a piece of cardboard with an arrow stuck through it

No such luck for me, and there are still no relevant Google results when I search ["wheel of fortune" pressman] with the "Past 24 hours" filter.
Anybody else?
