MarioGS So they are taping 6 episodes that day, 5 of them are European Vacation airing in mid-January, and the last is America's Game airing in mid-March. eybyon Pretty much let the crowd know what it was, the occasional prizes based on theme weeks (cookbook, Disney DVDs, etc) and the fact that there's a pretty good community there, the fact that I met a really good friend there, etc. The change in jobs had a bit to do with that yes. I can hardly play anymore. I haven't won in about 2 months keep in mind. During the week, I'm in the middle of a cafeteria-style restaurant as the lone cashier at lunchtime. Doesn't leave much time for Twittering at 1 in the afternoon in a New York City restaurant.

The weird thing was that I didn't get a letter in the mail at first. The first method of contact after the final auditions was an e-mail on day 7 because they had a last minute opening or something. Congrats. It's so awesome to hear this. It's also the reason I wish they would send out a rejection letter, even if just a "Thank you for coming to the audition. You have not been selected this round." Since you got your notice within a week and other people claim it takes months even though they told us two weeks. I feel like I'm just going to be checking my mailbox every day hoping to find a letter.

iroc24 Looking back, maybe I shouldn't have revealed that part of the story so others wouldn't feel bad. I was a little excited. I agree that they should send out a rejection letter though, so that there's at least some form of finality. I really hope you and speederice get your acceptance letters. Would love to see more BAV Boarders on the show.

Good luck to iroc24 and speederice!! I've always loved watching WoF, but this season has been soooo much fun now that I "know" some of the contestants! Fingers crossed that those letters are in the mail so that we can add you guys to the "Upcoming Vowel Buyers" thread! And congrats to presidentbacon!!! I've already had a couple of months to prepare for my future tape-date, but I'll never feel fully ready when that email comes...I can't imagine how overwhelmed you must feel right now! Keep us updated on your exciting journey!

iroc24 Looking back, maybe I shouldn't have revealed that part of the story so others wouldn't feel bad. I was a little excited. You're allowed to be excited. And it doesn't make me feel bad. Like I said, I just wish there was a way to know for sure if your rejected. Getting a notice early is one thing, but for those that got it late... there the ones that will keep me wondering. I have until Thursday for the "two week" mark and then it could be longer if they mail it at the two weeks but the letter needs to get from the west coast to the east coast. Or even longer if I'm one of those people that get notified months later.

This Wednesday will be the 2 week mark but it's encouraging to hear that some have gotten it later. In fact I asked a friend of mine who was on in 2011 and he said he didn't hear anything for 5 months. I'm crossing everything, this is my 3rd Final Audition in 7 years and I'm hoping the 3rd time is the charm.

CONGRATS presidentbacon!! All the best to you as you prep for taping! Is it easier knowing that it is coming up so soon, or would you rather have had more time to prepare? It sounds like you were ready to play either way! Haha. I am glad you mentioned your email, because I did not think that they could reach out on there too, and I would hate to miss an opportunity like that one! Welcome to the boards woffreak82! Glad to have another Philly auditioner here to sweat it out with us as we wait for our letters! ^_^;

No letter yet and a note to all the Philly auditioners like myself waiting for it, there will be no mail delivered on Veterans Day tomorrow. I know it'll probably make us all a little crazy missing a day of mail but hopefully it's the break our minds need. I wish everyone the best of luck as we all wait for our letters.

Hey Everyone! I was at the Philly Final audition on Tuesday afternoon. Yesterday was the 2 week mark. Waiting (not-so) patiently for my letter.. I was wondering if anyone who was at the Philly auditions has received a letter yet? (I saw that President Bacon got an email-- So cool, Congrats!!) This was my 2nd final audition. Last time, I 'made it' to the end of the audition, but this time, I was excused after the test. I don't think I did poorly on the test, so I was wondering if anyone had any insight on this-- do I still have a chance if I didn't stay until the end? Looking forward to hearing from you guys! Thanks! Mel

I haven't had a lot of personal experience with the tryout process, due to the remote location where I live. I've made it to one Wheelmobile and that's about it.
However, based on talking with folks here on the boards and elsewhere, it seems like there's been a change in policy. Previously, if you were dismissed right after the test, that was it, game over. Nowadays, being dismissed is no longer a death sentence for your chances, as people have been known to be let go but still get the letter/e-mail. The current mindset seems to be that they let the ones leave for whom they've made a solid decision one way or the other, but keep a few that they want a final look at to present their case one more time.
I wouldn't give up hope just yet. You may still have something on the way, waiting at the mercies of the slow postal service. And even if you don't end up getting the happy message, don't give up. Keep trying and maybe someday you might finally get that call.

Keep trying and maybe someday you might finally get that call. I agree a million percent with everything said in this post. It is true that if you're dismissed after the quiz you could still get a letter. That was a switch that was implemented this year I believe. The other 2 times I tried out if you left after the quiz your chances are zero. The Coordinators did say that at least one in the group I auditioned in will get that letter. Even if you don't make it you have to keep at it. This is my 3rd Final Audition and when they asked me that I told them yes this is my 3rd time trying out and I believe this will be the time. I even decided to take it a step further and performed close up magic which I mentioned I did as a hobby. I hope that my gameplay added with my interview added with the trick will convince them to say "we need this guy on Wheel of Fortune". I'm not giving up until at least next Friday or Saturday especially since there was no mail today. I hope you get your letter and I hope I get my letter and I hope it's soon.

If there's a holiday, as there was this week, never count that towards letter day. I think it will likely be tomorrow, or as Mario says, outside chance of Saturday. When I auditioned last year, MLK day was part of the two week wait, and I made a point to not count that because mail simply doesn't come that day. Don't count yourself out yet, anybody!

I'm still holding out hope! When I reviewed the other final audition threads (because I am THAT dork :oops: ), it looks like the Denver folks didn't get their letters until around Day 24-25! And we had the holiday yesterday to delay everything.

For extra luck I read all my cousins' literature including her acceptance letter from when she was on in 1990.
