True. I’m just hoping that there’s a new music package, since we didn’t get a set change.
Then again, Jeopardy! refreshing the theme and think music while continuing to use the same set is nothing new. The current music package debuted in Season 25, and the metallic set was still in use. It was the last season with that set, as we got a sneak peek at the CES set during the '09 ToC before it got permanently put into use at the start of Season 26.
I believe it was also used during Celebrity Jeopardy in Season 25.

That too, but there was only one celebrity game that season as the ToC commenced the next day.

Does anyone know if they changed the theme or they kept the theme. If they didn’t, they went full on cheap, but not as much as Wheel of Fortune.

I’m hoping for a majestic and jazzy theme, similar to the 1997 theme. If they didn’t change the set, they have to change the music.

Like sushibarset14, that actually happened in Season 17; the 2001 theme debuted in February of that year when they aired Celebrity Jeopardy! and the International Tournament in Las Vegas, and then it was put permanently into use on the episode aired April 23. As I previously mentioned, one possibility is that they may refresh the music package mid-season, similar to what Wheel of Fortune did in Season 34.

Something I just realized... The big "35" on the J! set this coming season was taken from the Wheel Hall of Fame outside the Wheel set, where it was placed between two cutouts of Pat and Vanna holding champagne glasses during last season's tapings.

There’s a week left until Season 35! Does anyone know what to expect yet?

Other than Alex starting the season with a beard? Not much different from the usual.

Other than Alex starting the season with a beard? Not much different from the usual. You never know. They might bring up a new, jazzier theme, or they can change the category animation, making it flip up like they did in Season 14, or something really nice.

^ I have to side with Josh. There isn't going to be anything noteworthy this season.

They're hyping something "big", but it might just be the beard thing. The fan reaction will be interesting.

the 35th anniversary logo from Jeopardy's twitter page Looks really nice! Has that Season 34 feel, and looks a lot like Season 30.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they refresh the music package on the first Monday of 2019 or the last day of 2018. As I mentioned before, Wheel introduced its current music package at the beginning of the calendar year 2017, which was midway into its 34th season. I did see a comment on YouTube that said there won't be new theme music until Season 36. That "something big" could also be a special tournament but who knows.

I agree with the fact that it could be a special tournament as "Something Big" like an anniversary tournament they did back in the early 90's or possibly another $1,000,000 tournament game.

Or I hope this "something big" will be the contestant leading at the end of Double Jeopardy! getting to pick one of three categories for Final Jeopardy! But my guess is that the "something big" is Alex's Santa Claus like appearance

I’m not expecting any changes other than the beard. Besides some minor rules and the double dollar in 2001, absolutely nothing will change for gameplay.

Last night I dreamed I saw the opening title sequence for Season 35. It was similar to Seasons 32 and 33, starting through a "museum" and then ending at the Jeopardy! logo. Johnny then said "This...is...Jeopardy! Celebrating 35 years" (his voice sounded rather different in my dream), then the logo zoomed in through the "A" revealing the set. They were still using the 2008 theme music.
I hope the opening sequence doesn't get lengthened again; they've been making the opening longer every three years since Season 23.
