the theme song may change in 2020. the next host of jeopardy could be Steve Harvey because of this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K-Pz8f2I0c The theme song maybe the 1997-2001 theme song. How about... NO?!

More recently, Alex Trebek renewed his contract and extended it to 2022 and 2023 on ABC O&O stations. Anyways, I think the music package is going to change in 2019, assuming that rights for the current package expire today. They may debut new music tonight, January 7, or at the latest they'll retire the current theme music at the end of this season.

I think Steve hosting Jeopardy was a joke.

Having watched this week's episodes, it's confirmed they're going to continue using the current music package for the remainder of this season. So we may have to wait until at least Season 36 for a new music package.
That being said I can't wait for the All-Star games next month.

You know...they don't have to change the music every so often. Maybe they like the current music?

You know...they don't have to change the music every so often. Maybe they like the current music? Interestingly, I watched tonight's episode and heard one of the short-lived cues from Season 25. No, it wasn't the "leaky faucet" Think! cue. But it was a different version of the main theme that had the bass line playing just one note; during the first month of Season 25, it played at the conclusion of the game right before Johnny said "Promotional consideration provided by". It played at the end of tonight's game as well. Just imagine if they use the "leaky faucet" Think! music on one of the episodes this week.

I'm watching day 2 of the All-Star Games, and they brought back the practice of popping in the dollar figures in the Double Jeopardy! round board.

^ I think this for a temporary time only.

^ I think this for a temporary time only. Nah, I hope they permanently bring it back. It's about time they start reviving practices that were dropped during Season 14.

It was probably due to the fact that the game was split up over two episodes (a practice which is stupid, by the way). I wouldn't expect it to remain.

The first game of the IBM challenge back in 2011 was also split up over two episodes. But in the latter episode, the dollar figures were already present on the board at the start of Double Jeopardy! unlike the All-Star tournament. That's why I thought they were going to revive the practice of popping in the dollar figures on the DJ! board. Unfortunately, they were already present on tonight's episode. Personally I'd like to see that practice get revived permanently later this season.

The other parts of the episode were for explaining the tournament. Keep in mind that this was the first time that Jeopardy did this tournament.

First game of all three matches were split into two episodes, and only on the second episode the dollar figures popped in on the DJ! board.
But more importantly, the All-Star games have been exciting to watch, especially now that the final match is down to Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter, and Colby Lewis (I hope Brad wins it all). It's a totally different tournament to what we've been used to seeing (ToC, Teacher's Tournament, Teen Tournament, College Championship). But I agree with therealcu2010 that they didn't need to split the first game of the first three matches into two episodes, especially matches two and three. I understand why they did it with match one as well as the first game of the IBM Challenge back in Season 27.

Congrats to Team Brad. That was one heck of a tournament, besides the Battle of the Decades back in Season 30.
