^ JP implied in the comments that it will be in the future, and that there will be gradual improvements to the set throughout the season. I wonder if he also implies that eventually, the base of the wheel is going to be changed again to match the puzzle board.

Well, the first version of the set is somewhat unfinished in overall so I'm glad those fixes and improvements will be made eventually.

The picture of the puzzle board with the three men standing in front of it is a great shot, and the new puzzle board will look great with a black background. I'm assuming we'll see it like that on CWOF.
If they make both ship wheels behind it the same size (the bigger size on the left side of the screen), and centered them symmetrically, it would look so much better.
They clearly had all four previous puzzle board designs in mind for this one, and I just think if they centered the ship wheels it would make for a perfect reprise of the classic arches and would probably be the best design out of all five.

I honestly think the black & starry background would probably be more suitable for the new set, whereas the genenic bright blue background doesn't really bring as much atmosphere to the game. The atmosphere looks dead to me at times. I sometimes have to give myself a second or two to remember this is not a foreign version. granted there was nothing wrong with foreign versions is just if you see a lot of them you know that they go with the darker blue more than our local version. granted another half the time it makes me think of Jeopardy. I mention the other one first because I wanna recognize that the most likely reason they chose this colouring to unite it with the rest of the international brand but at the same time it looks so similar to the colour relation of the jeopardy set right next to it it makes it jarring in harder to keep its own identity. note - I mean the most recent international ones from the past decade (both the recent UK version and some of the versions we see in wheel around the world),not the Australian 2000s version. Does this mean they're going back to the old set for the remainder of S42 tapings? Yes and J! will use the set instead. For a few seconds I did wonder if they did switch studios given the coloring. even if this was a joke this would be interesting to switch the coloring of the two shows. (at least that would fix both shows having almost the same coloring at this point) adding some excitement to the Jeopardy colours might increase interest in the game. I am a big fan of Jeopardy currently but I do remember as a kid I thought update was wheels plain cousin. (with way way simpler language) but hey I really do miss the onion logo for wheel. I can see both sides of the whole secrecy thing. While it seems a bit over the top to fire someone over a leaked 2 second video that really didn't show that much, I can see why they want to go to great lengths to keep this under wraps as long as possible. It's just so, so difficult to do in this age of social media and everyone having a camera in their pocket. I think back to the big puzzle board change in 1997. I don't know if it was in the news at all beforehand, I was only 9 years old at the time. But I remember I had no clue they were getting an entirely new puzzle board until the day before when my dad told me that Pat and Vanna mentioned it at the end of Friday's show. I remember other seasons that had big changes, like season 12 with the new music and puzzle board border, I had no clue until the show aired. I kind of miss having these big changes be surprises that we didn't know about months in advance. So in that sense, I'm kind of glad we haven't seen anything yet. It builds up the anticipation for the new season. It did strike me as odd at first that they'd get this protective over a set (it's not like average viewers are going to care that much), but maybe they do want to recapture some of that old pre-social media feeling of anticipation among the fans. Still not sure how I feel about them firing someone over it, though. in terms of everything surrounding it, I feel like on a normal season this will not get even the slightest note no matter how much was changed. The only reason this is getting noticed and likely why the company wants to show that they actually have to enforce their agreements. (because I really doubt it is the publicity of getting a video onto a social media account,it's most likely for principal) is because people are noticing there is a new host that they are noticing the show. on the regular seasons like what a few if you have said, just something very few people are going to be chatting like on the board. I was one of the people that really only saw a very close to the first episode (I am thinking less than a week but the whole Olympics is screwing up my timing slightly for everything in August) and everything I see from here the Paradise forum or Golden Road. I do not look at all at social media. I have one account and it is barely used it was mostly for backing up games back in the day. I know I probably one of the few that do that but I actually for most things only see it the day of the first episode. I was only looking because of the excitement of a new host myself as well.

From KTEN comes our first glimpse of part of the new set. It’s not much, but it’s something: Edit: Removed the CSS source code that automatically populated despite not showing up in the mobile editor. It was getting too long for what was originally just re-post of relevant stuff. I feel Texoma deserves it's own post. I am shocked that they were having a fun posting with Maggie given that they already basically showed the updated set to a section of Texas. (I am having some trouble getting a decent population count since it sounds like the station serves a few markets, not even all in the state of Texas) I will also add that I was rather disappointed they didn't bring back the parallelogram name tags, and the puzzle board font is still the same. Additionally, I was kind of thinking "what if the puzzle board had gray blank spaces that lit up in white every time a correct letter was called, and whenever Vanna reveals a letter, the space would rotate to the left like the old trilons (only during main-game puzzles, not toss-ups)." That said, I also like the new toss-up wipe since it matches the set perfectly. And I noticed the font being similar, if not the same as the one used on the 2004-06 wipe. But they could've used a different animation and accompanying sound effect. The current sound effect for the toss-up wipe debuted in Season 22, and the flip-up animation started in Season 27 (though it was somewhat modified in Season 37 and Season 40). Even though this and a red background for the bankrupt would be interesting, people have been taking seizure warnings very seriously these past few years so I am not sure if they are even legally allowed to do this. (you cannot without warning (and I think I have only seen that warning once in the past three years, forgot what show) have seizure inducing lights on in network show) so sadly this is likely not to happen.

adding some excitement to the Jeopardy colours might increase interest in the game. If they were to change the color scheme, I'd go with purple like the sushi bar set.

I'm not sure what the difference is between making the background red for a Bankrupt on Wheel of Fortune and doing the same for the Whammy on the Banks version of Press Your Luck.
